The Rep System.

I was conversing with the lovely Mel and she informed me that I would need 100 rep points in order to level up just once. She also mentioned that many abused it back in the day which is how they've come to master ultima.

I think there should be a re-vamp of the sys and here are some sugguestions.

Level up works as follows.

level 1 = 25 rep points.
level 2 = 50 rep points.
level 3 = 85 rep points.
level 4 = 110 rep points.
level 5 = 140 rep points.
level 6 = 190 rep points.
level 7 = 250 rep points.
level 8 = 350 rep points.

A point from any member = 1 point.
A point from a staff member = 3 points.
A point from Victoria = 3 whole levels.

If only it was that simple.

The rep system is so complicated that you need 100 points to level.

I believe that you can only change the amount given per rep. Being a mod or admin changes nothing.

I'm pretty much stuck teaming up with Cloud since I got this maybe 20+ reps ago.

I was certain that for every 100 +thanks a member receives, they get another green dot, not another level when you point at the green dot.

Rowan, right now it says that you have leveled up (LV1). That means that you have a thanks score of 11-49. loaf, as you have teamed up with Cloud (LV3), your score is somewhere between 100-174.

I have the list written down, because I got tired of searching for the actual list on TFF. Anyway, the scores are without the descriptions are as follows (I will put in the link to where it is when I find it).

< -200
-200 to -101
-100 to -51
-50 to -11
-10 to -1
0 to 10
11 to 49
50 to 99
100 to 174
175 to 249
250 to 374
375 to 499
500 to 649
650 to 799
800 to 999
1000 or more

Anyway, I think the system works just fine. It is like the ranking levels with post count, in order to get to the next rank you have to post more and more.

Less than -200: User has become a Heartless.
-200 to -101: User is naughtier than Seymour.

Well, you just let the mouse hover over the green under a member's name of their posts. But the Members List can also be sorted by Thanks Score. Just click on Thanks in the Members List section. Then you can sort by Ascending or Descending order. You don't get to know their exact score, but you do find out their current Thanks level. Thus giving any interested a general idea of where members stand in Thanks.

Used to be that the reputation system made a lot more sense, with large increases or decreases with members who had higher reputation, influenced moreso by staff membership. When it changed from the rep system to the "thanks" system, it got all jacked up and turned into a single-point like/dislike type of thing.

Removes abuse, but also removes the point of it existing altogether.
