Yes.
It's also the new FFI, FFII, FFIII, FFIV, FFV, FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX, FFX, FFXI, and FFXII.
Ever since info started coming out on FF XIII, I've had this inexplicable feeling that somehow Final Fantasy XIII is the new VI in certain ways.
For example, to speculate a bit, I have a feeling that if we get FF XV, it will be much different from the previous ones, like VII was, marking it as a revolutionary prodigy child. This would somehow mimic what happened with VI.
Also, based only on pictures and a few videos, it seems to me that in XIII we're getting the most idiosyncratic set of characters than we've seen since VI (though unfortunately not as many).
Since I'm likely far from playing XIII any time soon, I might not be able to talk a lot about this, but I'd be interested in knowing if anyone has had these thought too. And perhaps some confirmation once the game comes out in the US.
So, yeah. Just to bring in a very speculative topic to the table, see if anyone wants to elaborate.
Yes.

I can only hope that XIII is the new VI.
Why?
Because VI is my favourite game. And I don't just mean FF-wise, I mean of ALL TIME. Of all time.

Hahah. Well, yeah that's very true. Though I see the facetiousness in your comment, I think it would be interesting to find the elements of previous installments in the new one (other than the very obvious elements that thread through the whole series). Has anyone done this with recent titles, or even with XIII?Yes.

Third favorite for me below Mother 2 and Mother 3, I think.Because VI is my favourite game. And I don't just mean FF-wise, I mean of ALL TIME. Of all time.
