I'll agree the OST was decent for most parts.
What I REALLY found lacking though, was the fact the battle/boss theme was at best...... meh. nothing truly memorable about it, just decent.
And come on.... no Victory Fanfare to speak of?
Then again, Nobuo Uematsu![]()
and getting someone equally brilliant to fill his shoes would AT LEAST take an act of a certain non-existing diety
Now then, time to get back to doing some more missions, I still have a bit to go before I can tackle the biggest ones^^

No idea why I ended up with this nick, I guess my preferred variations of Yuffie were taken
I love the soundtrack. Not as much as I've loved past games though. I think this one had a much bigger western (as in American) feel to it, then past games which is a nice touch. Plus songs like Snow's theme really show that rock has a place in FF games. Can't wait until the Black Mages have songs in these games.
The same guy who did this soundtrack did Dirge of Cerberus though, so you can deffinatly feel the similarities between the two projects.
This is my signature. It's not good now, but later on it might be. Who can say...
...can you?
If you ask me, the sountrack is cheesy as hell! Most of the music on FF 13 is like that.
I downloaded the soundtrack just last night. There's a few themes I liked.
Some things are lacking, however. The lack of the victory fanfare, the prelude, and FINAL FANTASY is what really hurts the soundtrack. Regardless, there are lots of themes, but not many of them very memorable. The Barthandelus theme is kinda cool, but I'll probably all-too-soon forget the theme, because honestly, Barthandelus wasn't a terribly interesting villain.
However, I do some of the themes that play early on in the game, and the normal battle theme and boss theme. IMO, the battle theme of this game is the best in the series. I also enjoy the final boss track, even though they sort of over-hype what is an easy battle... (Except the first phase, it can die.)
I'd give the soundtrack a 7.5/10, 6/10 for trying something new, but not making anything all that memorable, and add 1.5/10 for the more memorable themes, even the opening menu theme.
I'm going through a bit of a The World Ends With You phase right now.Click THERE:
I really enjoy listening to the OST. Such brilliant music!
"Humans are tools, I'm not gonna die for one of them..." - Lightning - FFXIII
Miles better than 12's, but still miles away from 6 or 4. It reminds me of X's in a lot of ways, which makes sense because one of the composers for X worked on this one. You can tell there's no Uematsu, but the battle theme really stands out.
I just hate how they put random lyrics over certain sonds, especially the Chocobo song. I mean, really? That's just ****ing dumb.
And I can't stand Leona Lewis, luckily I haven't heard the theme yet, and I'm on chapter 12. I miss the victory fanfare too, it definitely should have been in, but I guess they were trying to keep with the feel of the game, which is bleak.
