I'm stuck on the Archylte Steppe. I did the pond scum task and have been trying to get off ever since. I keep bumping into monsters and mountains and I'm going round in circles. Even the map doesn't help.
I've earned lots of CP points but I just went to get out of here.

Thanks for that. I think I've been missing the jumping points.
Also keep note of the arrow that is attached on the mini-map. The arrow directs you to where you next destination is based on the story. So if you get lost just follow the direction of the arrow.
Curious? There's no limits but your own imagination.

I was trying to follow that arrow, but I kept coming up against mountains. I think I need those jump spots.
It's also hard sometime because when you look around your map gets inverted too if you expand it to look at it so essentially you're always looking North. So just try to zoom out and look where that arrow is pointing and you should be ok, it gets easier the more you travel across it with missions and stuff.
Wanna Know More:
About 20 missions in, you'll know the place like the back of your hand. Chocobos are what makes the trek across less tedious.

It's really weird. I've just found an exit in the NE. Going in it said Valis Media and going out it said something like Tsubranan Highlands.
According to the map, Valis Media is in the SE.
The good thing is I'm getting lots of points for killing penguins, but it's really confusing.
I don't like how the map rotates when you expand it. That drives me NUTS!
I didn't realize that it did this at first. I thought it would stay stationary like every other freaking map does. Of course not! It has to flip and whatnot depending on where you are standing. It took me a LONG time to figure this out.
I felt pretty lameish.
I thought it was a bit like Alice in Wonderland, only much more vicious!
