limit break?

Do ff13 characters have limit break? I swear I've seen it on youtube but I don't have them. Where can I get them?

not directly, no. They do have the ability to "Stagger" your opponent, so you can rack up many many many points of damage. I guess if anything, using your summons is kinda like a limit break, since you have to build up the ability to use them over a period of multiple battles. You can use them whenver you want once you have a certain amount of ability points for it.

There is what you'd call a "Limit Break" in the game, but it is not something activates when you fill up a meter. When you reach Stage 9 of the Crystarium every character can learn an unique ability that is specific to them and will consume the entire action meter regardless of length. The affects vary, but they are in general very powerful moves when done right. Fang's in Highwind which with Kain's Lance plus the Genji and a very high stagger meter can deal 999,999 damage. Lightning's is Army of One, Sazh is Cold Blood, Vanille in Death and I can't remember what Hope or Snow's are off the top of my head.
