Well, the second encounter, you mean the one in oerba?
If so, you may notice that he attacks slow at first.
I am not posting the paradigms I used cause that takes too much time but...
I just buffed and debuffed him at the begginning while one was ravager.
I remember having the ravager another witch class so that i can switch only her to Commando to keep up the chain gague.
In all, just debuff, break, hurt, heal, repeat.
Sorry if I sound confused, the first encounter was harder to me.
