Observe:

Predominately sunny in FFVII, hair is extended and more area taken.

More clouds and rain in Advent, therefore the hair has retracted since it takes less sunlight. Evolution.

IX has a lot of food, think that's pretty much it

Oh and FFVIII, Zell eats hot dogs and VII you can eat regular human food like BBQ sushi plate and more

LOLOL,,, this is a fun question,

before I see anybody else's answers, I'm going to say they eat typical kinds of hiking foods, like jerky, cheese, and bread. For the old school games, I'd imagine they hunt wild game. They cook on open fires, and the whole lot. Many times they are in cities of course, so they'd eat at Inn's and restaurants.

no wonder the chocobo sage in FF7 makes straight bank!

lol I remember Polk bringing up the KFC thing now, made me lol again.

I'd drink some cactaur juice, only as long as it would make me randomly whistle everytime I run around or something, just like in FF13. For some reason I found the whistling sounds of cactaurs very amusing in that game.

Id say they eat a lot of boiled veg, raw fruit, and im trying to think of milk they could get..... chocobos dont produce it im guessing

so sheep milk/cheese, and they would eat at inns any chance they get .

oh and Chocobo eggs! I reckon they would be delicious

I don't see them eating normal food for example instead of Chicken they might eat some other type of bird maybe a Zuu. Maybe a lupine pie or something like that it would be intersting to see a FF menu!!!

I'm only 4 hours into IX, and I've seen people eating Soup and Beef.

VIII has a lot of hot dogs....

VII has sushi if I remember correctly.

After Tidus works for the Al Bhed in X, he is given a tray of what looks like (to me) spaghetti. Which sounds weird, because he ate it with his hands. Anyway, it was some red blob that looked like spaghetti.

I know Moogles eat Kupo Nuts. One of the moogles in IX is "kupo for Kupo Nuts!"

But I Did See a Few Sceens Where They Had Regular Food That We See Today, Like Meet, Fruits And Some Vegetables. They Just Have Some Made Up Foods As Well.

Like others, I imagine them eating pretty much any food in real life with a few exceptions due to either the setting of a specific FF game (e.g. VII VIII more likely to eat hot dogs or pizza than, say, I-VI or IX) or having a certain species that doesn't exist in real life.

Also, my answer refers to all characters in any FF game; not just the main characters.
