What is the difference between a good boss and a bad boss?

Is it the difficulty? Is it the story? Is it the looks?
Tell me.

I think that good bosses should incorporate all aspects...

Difficulty goes to Seymour, the one on Gagazet. What gave him the power to mutate though? No reasoning. So he sux in the background area.(In that form)
He does look cool, but what was the reasoning behind his looks?

Story goes to Vayne. Nice full background around him. But in difficulty? I died once against him... Not hard at all. His looks are alright, but why a dragon who doesn't have as much power as he did, changing into that form?

Looks go to the non-cannical beasts, like Omega from FFX, or yazmat from FF12
Almost no story behind them, just enough to explain their existence. They have difficulty though...


I do not know of a boss that incorporates all of them...

about Seymore... i read somewhere (maybe on the final fantasy wiki) that he absorbed pyreflies from all the Ronso he'd slain or something. thats prety much how he turned into his second form, that much i know, execpt he absorbed Kinoc's and his Guado Gaurdian's pyreflies instead. Sorry i'm so vauge XP. Anyway his Gagazet form was probably one of the hardest story bosses in the game... then again so was his Second form too. Something to do with his Petrifying/Zombie attacks followed by a finishing move prety much the moment he Petrified/Zombiefied you.
