    Rank the Lead Characters

Rank the following lead characters by how much you like em, how important they were, and how useful they were in the story.

    Alright, the candidates are,

    From Final Fantasy

    4 - Cecil
    5 - Bartz
6 - Terra or Locke (I know there are a bunch of good be leads here but she's the focus. You can choose Locke as the alternate, but he's really never displayed as the central character)
    7 - Cloud
    8 - Squall
    9 - Zidane
10 - Tidus or Yuna (You can choose Yuna as the lead as an alternate here. It was "their" story)
12 - Ashe or Vaan (Ashe was seriously much more of the central character than Vaan after you left Rabanastre, so we can put both up there.)
13 - I haven't played it yet, so rank away.

    My List:

    1. Cecil-FF4 (He's the only Lead ever portrayed as a "legendary" figure. It is his and only his destiny in that game. Only the original game gives such a position of power to the characters.
    2. Terra-FF6 (She just has everything. She can do everything in the game, and she's the strongest link there has ever been to espers in the game, and she does that in a game with the strongest story for espers of any game. She's loved, she's feared, she's a pawn, she's a threat, she's just everything. Check the seen where she becomes a nanny.)
    3. Yuna-FF10 (I went ahead with the Yuna option. I do feel that she is every bit the main character that Tidus is within the game. It's "their" story. And she's really strong, really modest, really dedicated. What other character went into the story knowing they had such high stakes placed upon them from step one? How cool was it to find out what she was facing? WOW.)
    4. Cloud-FF7 (This is kind of tough, because I don't know if I'm in love with the guy, but he is an uber bad mo-fo in a lot of ways, and his back story is pretty interesting. I liked when you found out that he was far less than he thought he was.)
    5. Ashe-FF12 (I'm starting to get into ho-hum territory a little here with games I cared more about the minor characters in, but Ashe was a solid character. Again I'm going with a female semi-sub-lead character, but Ashe was a genuine A-Lister who was the star of the game more than Vaan. She doesn't have Yuna's likeable sensability, and she doesn't display Yuna's level of commitment either though, so she's significantly below some of the other female leads of the series.
    6. Squall-FF8 (I'm not sure what to say about him. This is very close to my favorite game of the series, and I do like Squall's background, but it's not that complex or dire, and I didn't really get that he was quite as bad ass as Cloud or as noble as Cecil and so he's just a kinda alright character really.)
    7. Zidane-FF9 (some of you will kill me for this, but the dude was just too flamingly happy. YUCK!)

    Re: Rank the Lead Characters

Lead characters. This is tough some fall really close to each other and could be easily switched.

    1. Squall - He was hard to figure out and jsut seemed annoyed with everything. It made him interesting in a lot of ways espcially once you started playing and he started to open up. Plus he was a badass with a gunblade.

    2. Zidane - Hes got a positive attitude that makes you want to keep playing. He kills with two daggers which is awesome. ALthough he isn't quite the bad ass as Squall or Cloud. His determination to help people is what puts him towards the top.

    3. Cecil - What can you really say about this guy except wow. Cecil went through the most change in any game I believe. Being the captain of the red barons to becoming a paladin fighting for good.

    4. Cloud - This guy probably went through the next big change. Finding out his whole past is wrong and screwed up can be really hard for a guy. To boot he then finds out hes been living somewhat of a lie and still decides to save the world. Tough guy right there.

    5. Tidus - What makes Tidus interesting is that he falls into a whole new world where hes not the star. He still finds himself in his old mans shadow which would just suck having that in not one world but two. Tidus basically is just reborn and you get to control a guy who has to learn everything new in life. He cuold of easily just went his own way if it wasn't for Yuna. I like how you gave the option of Tidus or Yuna cause its true its both their lead role basically.

    6. Ashe - This game was kind of hard to play through. I mean the story was ok but just overall wasn't one of my favorite final fantasy's. I actually think that Balthier could be up their for lead role in this game cause your right Vaan is basically just a character are you leave. Ashe however is a strong willed girl that shows barely any weakness. SHe acts tough even though she really could just open up.

    7. I'm about to finish Final Fantasy XIII and I must say I'm a little disappointed. I mean the game at first was a blast the new battle system the graphics etc... The only thing is what happened to the ability to roam anywhere you want to. The game basically keeps you on one track with no off. Character wise Lighting is at first one badass character that doesn't take anything. She then chagnes and her role to me drops and she loses that lead role quality she had.

    Re: Rank the Lead Characters

Oi hell, a time consuming post hahaha

1- Squall. At the time, his and my personality was a perfect match, literally. I like how cold he is, how latently powerful he is, and how much he tried not to like Rinoa. It actually for somereason made Rinoa cuter... ?.?

2- Bartz. I don't know why, but I REALLY liked his personality. Care-free in a serious story, always craking jokes when he can, but kept a serious demeanor inside.

3- Tidus. Hate me but I actually liked how he fit into the story perfectly. Maybe it being one of my favorite games has something to do with it but...

4- Ashe. Well, honestly, I really just thought she was sexy as hell... >///<

5- Celes. I know she wasn't nominated but seriously, I consider her the Main character for the second half. I really liked her personality, it was complex, really complex in a sense and actually had more of a personality than most FF characters.

I won't add Cecil because his lack of shown opinions in certain events(bland overall personality), Zidane because I never finished the Fourth disc, and cloud because I have an anti-fanboy case against him.

I will later post on my thoughts regarding to the story and usefulness.

Your pathetic existence will shut down. I will make your lives end in ruin. Fear me, as you fear death. Not a threat, not a promise, but what must be finished. 7 final arcs...

    Re: Rank the Lead Characters

    1. Zidane Tribal (Final Fantasy IX) - Personality of true hero, strong, brave, optimistic, confident, selfless...proud at what he does, laid back character with interesting background, and potential to surpass Kuja himself.

    2. Zack Fair (Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII) - Humble fella with strong will, and heart of gold, Zack lived, and died as a true hero.

    3. Squall Leonhart (Final Fantasy VIII) - Many seem to mix his lone wolf act with being emo, guilty of doing that myself as well, though as the game goes on the character itself gains more substance, takes lead rather than being a puppet, becomes more determined, and compassionate.

    4. Terra Branford (Final Fantasy VI) - Confused, and naive character at first, but as the game develops she becomes stronger, and more confident.

    5. Ashelia B'nargin Dalmasca (Final Fantasy XII) - Proud, independent, and determined character, example of great leader, yet at the same time compassionate, and rather vulnerable.

    6. Vaan (Final Fantasy XII) - Love what he stands for, what he represents, his curious, and passionate nature. Regular fellow, part of a strong group rather than one man army.

    7. Tidus (Final Fantasy X) - Cheerful, lighthearted guy, despite all he's been through, adapts rather fast, not afraid to show his emotion, though he can go overboard sometimes.

    8. Cecil Harvey (Final Fantasy IV) - The change he went through is interesting process to say the least, he became compassionate, now more than ever, though naive, lost his firm attitude, and easily forgives.

    9. Cloud Strife (Final Fantasy VII) - not really a fan of angsty teens to be honest, despite what many may think Cloud is far from great leader, for huge part of the game he couldn't think for himself let alone to lead, thus his companions suffered. Though you have to admire his strength, after he found his true self he became a decent character.

    10. Bartz Klauser (Final Fantasy V) - I don't hold characters of Final Fantasy V in high regards, Bartz is no exception. He's not a shabby fella, though naive, and hasty I'm afraid.

I might add my though on Locke, and Yuna later on.
