i do appreciate a lot of the ff games and its hard to pick any particular one, mainly because SE does a great job at innovating each game, making it seem fresh while still adding in throwbacks to games of the past.
I like intricate stories, good music, opportunities to channel my inner savant powers for grinding if the battle system is acceptable, and character customization. The first three FFs I all like, though I'd be more inclined to play through ff1 before 3 and 2 respectively. FF4 had met quite a bit of my criteria in fact and remains one of my top games. FF5 is very similar as well and I get cravings to replay through it now and then. FF6 is strange to me... I understand why people enjoyed it, but it was never a game I cared for, for reasons unknown. I would typically get excited to play through it, and I'd always drop it in the same place (normally right after I get access to Setzer's airship the first time.) No idea why i keep getting a block right there, but eh.
FF7 is indeed pretty fun but I haven't really replayed it that much. FF8 I'm starting to get into as well, I really enjoyed playing it again, probably even moreso than when I first played it. FF9 was alright but I haven't got to do a replay of it in a long time, though I got almost everything accomplished from when I played through it the first time. FF10 was kind of a one big unlock everything, didnt really feel like playing it again but I do occasionally watch videos from it. FF12 I have never finished actually and that game is on the backburner of my list of games to play through. FF13 was the same as ff10.
i guess I prefer some of the older ffs for replay value because they seem easier to get into than the newer ones, but I like em all in different ways :3
