Haha I have a very long and unfortunate history with Blockbuster and Legend of Dragoon. I rented that game several times during the summer of 2000, when I was 13. I didn't have the money to buy new games, so I'd do bullshit work for my parents and/or grandparents and be able to rent a game, while having some spending money.

I rented LoD several times, finally getting to the final boss. On the last day of the rental, and coincidentally, the last day that my dad (the cardholder) allowed us to rent games, as school was starting up.

Well, that asshole final boss took me over an hour to fight, and then he pulled a bullshit move and wiped my party out. I swore to never play the game again. But yknow, beers and such, and now I bought it for probably less than I spent to rent it for 5 days.

Too bad most kids these days won't know the value of the stuff we had to do. I played LoD I think for first time I was like 12 which was 2003. Now days can buy games cheaper or use emulators . Not the same feeling as when you were a kid but it's still nice and save money muhahahahaha

Final Fantasy IX, closely followed by XII and VI. Nostalgia aside it's a pretty great game, charming, with remarkable characters (villain in particular), story and music. Not to be mixed with what I consider to be the best one in the series though.

Crisis Core is my favorite, then The War of Lions, and finally the Dissidia. I played VI a good deal but didn't finish it, but that was a good game. From the numbered FFs I have actually completed, XII will have to be the one I liked best.

How would you guys feel if they remade a game or made it into a movie? Which ff do you think would be cool or do you think it's best to stay a game

I think that with Square's recent track record of being able to **** up a wet dream, they'd be best off leaving the past games alone. If they turned games into movies, they'd probably eliminate major scenes like Aeris dying, or Cecil becoming a Paladin. Then they'd go and Square it up by giving Barret some horrible voice, like the gay guy from Will and Grace.

Long story short, they should drop Enix, gather the crew up from FFVI and have them remake X-XIII

I agree Pete ! I think it would be cool to have an awesome movie but at same time they would just **** shit up and get our hopes up for nothing .

That's why I'm gonna be so content to replay Legend of Dragoon after I wrap up The Last of Us haha. At least now I own the damn thing and can pick it up and play whenever.

It's phenomenal. I absolutely love it! It has so much going on that I couldn't really compare it to just one game. It's more than just an escort mission game, and more than just a stealth game (because you can be loud if you can handle hordes). It has an incredible story that I honestly can't wait to finish. You wind up really feeling for the characters, and truly pulling for them to accomplish what they need to do. I feel like that doesn't happen too often in games today.

Oh pick it up as soon as you can! I highly recommend it. I'm gonna start Legend of Dragoon as soon as I can, but I just started The Witcher 2. I'm kinda bad about how I go about starting games I buy

One time a long time ago I was picturing FFVII as a movie. The opening scene with the Train and everything. The movie would either need to be a 2 parter or a like 4 hour movie. First movie ends at the end of Disc 1 and then second movie ends at the end of the game but man that would be a long movie. They would have to do so much for that. The intro to the movie would have to be the entire bombing mission.

Unless it's a high budget film trilogy, the likes of the LOTR, I don't see my favorite Final Fantasy being any good on the big screen. I would rather have a tv show or an anime series, then again we got Final Fantasy: Unlimited and that show was god awful.

As for the remakes, I would be more than happy with a simple graphics overhaul or another game set in Ivalice.

I've said it so many times in my life. I want old Ivalice stuff, like the Catastrophe or most of the St. Ajora stuff.

They honestly could do movies with some of the Ivalice stuff like the 2 I just mentioned. St. Ajora instead of having some Party of heroes it's a movie about what really happened during that time.

and the Catastrophe could be about a large group of characters.

wait when did loaf move to texas what the hell l0l

i do appreciate a lot of the ff games and its hard to pick any particular one, mainly because SE does a great job at innovating each game, making it seem fresh while still adding in throwbacks to games of the past.

I like intricate stories, good music, opportunities to channel my inner savant powers for grinding if the battle system is acceptable, and character customization. The first three FFs I all like, though I'd be more inclined to play through ff1 before 3 and 2 respectively. FF4 had met quite a bit of my criteria in fact and remains one of my top games. FF5 is very similar as well and I get cravings to replay through it now and then. FF6 is strange to me... I understand why people enjoyed it, but it was never a game I cared for, for reasons unknown. I would typically get excited to play through it, and I'd always drop it in the same place (normally right after I get access to Setzer's airship the first time.) No idea why i keep getting a block right there, but eh.

FF7 is indeed pretty fun but I haven't really replayed it that much. FF8 I'm starting to get into as well, I really enjoyed playing it again, probably even moreso than when I first played it. FF9 was alright but I haven't got to do a replay of it in a long time, though I got almost everything accomplished from when I played through it the first time. FF10 was kind of a one big unlock everything, didnt really feel like playing it again but I do occasionally watch videos from it. FF12 I have never finished actually and that game is on the backburner of my list of games to play through. FF13 was the same as ff10.

i guess I prefer some of the older ffs for replay value because they seem easier to get into than the newer ones, but I like em all in different ways :3

I guess I will throw in my 2 cents as well, first off, nice to meet you Acire, Sabin here. My favorite FF has been VI as far back as I can remember. I've always been partial to the snes FFs for their unique environments, story, and character development. FFVI had a nice theme around it and was a great experience for me. It is enjoyable learning spells from summoned monsters, getting stats from level ups from certain ones, suplexing trains (is that a meme now?), and the introduction to being able to fully control the airship unlike previous FFs.

I do have a liking for PS1 FFs, FFIX is one of my top favorites for that system, very cutesy and adorable, along with mixing together elements from other FFs to make one unique final fantasy game. It also had a great storyline along with a great soundtrack.

I never cared for FF 12 though I enjoyed Balthier and the whole sky pirate thing . I would be so happy with remakes of older ones but just the graphics ...that plus the nostalgic music ..wow would be like playing them for the first time all over again

Hi everyone ! I enjoy talking with you all btw nice to meet you too Sabin! Sorry for me responding later! I have come to the realization that most of you are most likely in the state's or somewhere else . I myself am in the Netherlands .

It's next to impossible to pick just one favorite FF game. They all have their upsides and downsides. I started with FF8 the day it came out so I loved it for a long time also because the settings worked for me and what kind of world I'd wanna live in but the other games captivated me too, naturally. The only beef I had with FF8 was the Laguna sections that bored me and always messed up my junctions which I had to set up all over again.
I'm one of the rare kind who enjoyed FFX-2 and FF13-2 more than their prequels mostly because I didn't need to switch party members and the main heroes were much more bearable than those in their predecessors.

I suspect the reason why Lulu was out of the party for the sequel, besides being pregnant, because she didn't fit into the image of the party. Like loaf mentioned, she was really busty and not that much agile, or a warrior like Paine was.
Still, Paine felt out of place too. We didn't get to know much about her.

What bothers me about FF games is that we mostly don't even get to know who we're playing with. I mean, what are their origins, motivations? How were they raised and who were their parents? And sometimes they don't even act like they're human. That's especially obnoxious in FF13 and goes for Lulu as well. It's hard to understand those characters sometimes and therefore empathize with them.

Btw, Lulu can surprise on many fronts. I think that all women would like to stay thin like her during pregnancy and then give birth out of nowhere. Really convenient.

They kind of explain their childhoods in FFX. Their families died due to Sin. That is their childhood.

FFXIII didn't matter on that. It was more focused on the long term story I feel.
