Final Fantasy XV Might Be An Action RPG

Kitase (Final Fantasy XIII-2 producer) hinted in an interview that Final Fantasy XV may be an action RPG. He says they are seeing "players moving away from games that used turn-based systems toward what you might term an action-RPG."

How would you feel if Final Fantasy turned its back on turn-based combat & went for a different breed of battle system? Final Fantasy 13 already came packing fairly fast battles, as Kitase also mentioned.

"FFXIII and FFXIII-2's battle systems have those elements of speed and action that are the key words for us, though that doesn't necessarily mean we're going to stick to the same route in our next game," he said. "That's something only time can tell."

Nothing is set in stone, these are just Square's current thoughts.

The Kingdom Hearts series pulled off the Action/RPG thing quite well but the whole turn-based battle system is what makes Final Fantasy battles great in my opinion. The series is always changing though so i'd still support it if it was to change, I mean if you want the traditional turn based etc, play an older title.
