Correction, Kefka was one of the Generals for the empire. If you travel into the Capitol and head into the tavern there is an emperial that talks bout how was the first general to get the magicite infusions. so hence yes he was one of the three.

Except that he doesn't mention anything about Kefka being a general. He simply says he was the first magitek knight. It's actually stated flat out in the imperial camp by two soldiers that Kefka is NOT a general, and if he were to become one, they would quit. People claiming Kefka to be a general is a common misconception, and I try to correct it whenever I can.

Brother and Rikku where also main characters in FFX-2 and can not forget the relations to Yuna also. And yes Brother was a main character in X-2, he just was not a playable character. Also in FFIV and FFIX there where brotherly connections

Replay the game again and look before trying to proove me wrong. It is fact. Read what the man says, there is no arguement here. It clearly states in the Anthologies version that he was.

FFXII also has a group of four elemental bosses that you fight in the Pharos - Phoenix(fire), Slyt(water), Fenrir(wind), and Pandaemonium(earth).

A. Not sure exactly what you mean in the question, but the only characters I can think of that mutually dislike each other in the beginning, but become friends later would be Zidane and Steiner(and Zidane and Kuja), and Cecil and Golbez. There are a bunch of characters that hate or are hated by other characters, but don't share the animosity, though:

FFII - Leila originally tries to capture Firion and crew, but joins them after being defeated. Also, Leon certainly doesn't like the good guys for a long time.

FFIV - Tellah hates Edward in the beginning, but Edward doesn't have any hard feelings against him. Later they put aside their differences. Palom and Porom don't really like Cecil in the beginning, but they quickly change their minds.

FFV - Being a notorious pirate and all, Faris doesn't really have any good will towards Bartz, Lenna, and Galuf in the beginning, but she quickly becomes friends with them.

FFVI - Setzer doesn't get off to a very good start by kidnapping Celes, but he seems to come around quickly enough after that.

FFVII - Barrett can't stand Cloud at first, but Cloud doesn't seem to care one whit about Barrett. Yuffie certainly has it in for the group when she is trying to steal their materia.

FFVIII - Everyone's pretty buddy-buddy in this game. Seifer I guess, but he never really comes around.

FFIX - Amarant really hates Zidane's guts, but Zidane doesn't even remember the guy when he sees him again, and never holds any ill-will towards him(or anyone for that matter, he's such a nice guy)

FFX - Tidus realy doesn't like his father throughout the game, but he sort of makes peace with him at the end.

FFXII - Vaan HATES Basch while he thinks that Basch is the one that killed his brother, but Basch never really shows any dislike to Vaan.

Q. What was the first English Final Fantasy to use the -ra, -ga, -ja method of naming the tiered elemental spells like Fire, Thunder, and Blizzard? (Note, in Japan, that method of naming has been used since the original FF)

I have. It clearly states he was a magitek knight, in all versions of the game. He never mentions the word general. Let me dig up the exact quote from the script and I'll show you. It also clearly states that Kefka was NOT a general by the Imperial soldiers in the camp.

EDIT: Alright, I looked up the actual Japanese script, and he is referred to as Shogun in that part(the equivalent they use for general), so it looks like as far as that goes, Kefka is a general. So you are right and the whole argument is moot right there. But I can guarantee you it never mentions that in the english versions. I'll play through the Anthologies version of the game again since I can't find a script that actually has that bit of dialogue. It should only take a few hours, I'm very fast when it comes to playing through FFVI.

And that's all she wrote. I talked to everyone else in Vector too, and they don't mention Kefka being a general either.

And here's the conversation between the two Imperial soldiers that says flat out that Kefka is not a general:

Pretty clear that he's not a general, right? In fact, they go out of their way to never refer to Kefka as a general anywhere in the game, which is strange since they go out of their way to refer to Leo and Celes as generals every chance they get. This is why I was so adamant about him not being a general - according to everything in English, he's not and the game seems to try and make a point of that. Of course, none of this matters since according to the original Japanese text, he is in fact a general, and both those conversations show that he is in Japanese. What the second conversation with the two soldiers actually is supposed to say is that they don't want Kefka becoming the next general of their battalion specifically, not that they don't want him becoming a general at all.

Now, I hope that puts that to rest. I apologize for derailing the thread.
