There's a picture online of Gackt looking a lot like Squall. Plus he's dressed exactly like Genesis on another which looks awesome. I'm not sure if they based both characters on him or he just likes dressing up as FF characters.

Actually, I'm fairly sure that Genesis was modeled after Gackt on purpose, so its not just a coincidence. But he does sort of resemble quite a few other FF characters sometimes as well, though the Genesis likeness is the most obvious.
