I use Latin names that sound intimidating =)
Does anyone else in FFT, dismiss all your characters and buy new recruits so you can name them? I always do it so my team is more personal.
So who does it? and what is your process for naming them? I always name them after my friends.
This is my signature. It's not good now, but later on it might be. Who can say...
...can you?

I keep the names. Don't feel like thinking of who should be named this Squire or that Squire.

I do it all the time. xD But really, I don't keep the generic units for very long at all, since I have a tendency to get Ramza's level up to 99 using the Mandalia Plains. =S But when I want generic units, I name them with my fanboy ways: after characters I liked from other games. x3 If I'm ever playing the game again--or any other game where you can name characters, for that matter--two of them are totally going to be Hope and Maqui. xD
Curiosity Conquers, So Click:
I usually just let the names stay the same unless I think it is something completely rediculous, then I generally will change them to something obsurd like the first thing I see for example I once named a few of the squires Beer, Bud and Jager; then again thats the alchy in my talking .

I did that on my 2nd game. Though it takes some time when they keep offering characters with poor stats. I only take the best they have to offer, fufufu (Brave/Faith AT LEAST 70 *hack-cough*). Last time I renamed the characters with FFTA characters' names and when they ran out, I'd use FFXII's. Monsters and chocobos get names from other FF-games, too. Usually chocobos are from FFIII (purple/black = Luneth, red = Ingus etc.)
Lali-hoe, I mean, ho!
I used to have a lot of fun changing the names and personalizing my group. I'd name them after my own characters from the stories I invented.. and then I'd split them up into two teams during battle and group them with their "friends" and kind of automatically invent my own background for them. I had fun with that when I was 9 just as much as I had fun playin' with Barbies .
I give them flashy Japanese names
dont name them i just play the game
minus the barbies part, I used to do that alot with the tactics game myself, create my own back story for each character, and have reasons for being in the group. to this date that game has been my favorite cause of the job classes, naming the character, and customizing the groups.
