    Sorry Cain I forgot that.
I like FFT cos it had better storyline, gain ability, music is so cool when I heard.
None on FFT:A, I try to gain a new ability but is so far away to learn a new ability.
And of course I get so easy to learn job on FFT because it have simple job system.
(I confuse about ability system on FFT:A)
Oh yeah I forgot, music on FFT:A wasn't good.
aND the last.............I like FFT better FFT:A
And to Cain....thank for your ALERT!!!!!!

i've played both games and while advance is fun, it is in more of less a kiddie version of Final Fantasy Tactics. While that might appeal to younger gamers, i missed the epic story of the original. All in all, i'd say FF Tactics is much better though i like both games.

FFt in my opinion was much better
    because of three major things
    1. i hated the judge thing in FFT:A
2.the story in FFT was way better
3.and FFT:A was way to short and simple

    Tactics vs Advanced

I dont know about you guys but I didn't like the new Final Fantasy Tactics: Advanced at all. It just seemed a little two childish and the story wasn't grabbing me either. I did not finish the game because of it too. And the red and yellow cards and how your characters couldn't die was just... meh. Anyways I was thinking maybe you guys could help me out a bit.

I am curious to see which ones better and why lol. So just go wild and explain as much as you want with how one is better then the other, because I can't make a decent conclusion without having played the second one. Anyways hope to read some posts and I really hope that someone can change my mind about the second one because as of now... I just think it was crap.

  6. #36
If you ask me I like Tactics better myself. I wasn't fond of the battle system for Advanced. Those stupid laws were very unfair and made it hard to win a battle.

I didnt like FFTA either lol FFT has a awesome story and was way more serious and more realistic i guess lol about war. And ya FFTA seemed really childish lol and at first when i found out ppl cant die i felt relieved but later on i felt as if i got no challenge wut so ever. FFT was challenging and yet fun.
FFT is better buy a long shot lol. But dont put out FFTA just like that. Its a good game but not as good as FFT.
    Spoiler:
OMFG FINAL FANTASY TACTICS REMAKE FOR PSP!!!

I din't really care about FFTA. FFT was really cool and that's all I needed. Plus it has Cloud. I don't know if the other one does but I don't care.

FFT:A had it's moment's but all in all, FFT still PWNS FFT:A because it was harder, cooler, and all out better. I especially liked the skills and how you gained them in FFT, FFT:A was kinda easy and childish.

I've played both games, but I'd prefer FFT. The reason why is because you can gain so much abilities and choose which classes you want and plus Cloud's in it to. Anyways apart from that it seemed more challenging than FFT:A and seemed less childish than it.

  11. #41
Well, I've never actually played FFT but the graphics kind of suck (IMO) and the only game I've played is FFT:A until my brother traded it in. Luckily I at least beat it but I ACIDENTALLY sold a quest item. And now, I have FFT:A on my computer (GBA Advance program, I still have it from 5-6 years ago)

FF Tactics is better for me because of 3 reasons:
    - FF Tactics has a nice storyline!
    - It's a challenging game.
    - The battles you fought depend on your level... Unlike FFT:A...

i think that FFT was dominant. i did think that the races where cool but some classes where kinda useless i think. the only good races to me are the humans and the mogs.
FFTA +:along with the races i did like how each race had some special thing that gave a reason to be a certain class in the game which i liked
FFT +:some of the things that where in final fantasy tactics the original where great like being able to capture monsters and acually have them a character in the game.
FFTA - :i also did not like the law system all this gave the game was a obsticle it really didnt do any good really i think. just another reason not to play it all to much.
FFTA + :although i did like how you caould go to a few places and laws where not added which is where i usually did all my battling

some of the few clases that where once in the original game such as mime and dance and bard caculator where not in the game gave less veriety to some parts.some classes where not really used so much in final fantasy tactics advanced i can never remember using the summoner or the morpher.
final fantasy tactics and tactics advanced both had good sidequests which made the games longer
trading and battling with others also was somthing i always wanted to see final fantasy tactics with maybe if there is a tactics for a more advanced gamming system they can make teams vr. each other that would be a good advancement

i can go on more but nobies most likly going to read it.........

FFT:A - Only two things I dislike about it were the Law system, made it so you couldn't do 3 different things(easy to overcome with a mixed party!)...which they had law cards that could remove/add laws to the battle. Also, the ending. It doesn't officially end...you can fight the last battle...OVER AND OVER AGAIN!

I liked the variances, and all the "collectible" stuff. On *1* save log, which I deeply regret selling that game, I had slightly over 500 hours played, EVERY item in mithril(special version), every monster captured, as well as most of my maxed out on level. I enjoyed being able to fight friends, though I had to make a secondary account to make it fair!

The biggest thing would likely being the races. I *greatly* enjoyed being able to mix races/classes effectively. My main group had (oy! the bunny girls!) a ninja/assassin, a summoner/healer of the same, my main toon(the human guy) went ninja/knight(omfg...he could hit HARD and do it twice...with some nice skills)/geomancer, a black/white mage Moogle, and my last main maxed out was an alchemist/illusionist of that caster race(reminded me of elephants).

I just disliked FFT in general for some reason. o_O Seriously, no clue...just, general dislike.

Hell, I'm going to go borrow my cousin's GBA and FFT:A and not return it when I move. Good thing he hates RPGs.

FFT is da adult version of FFT:A

FFTA is geared more towards the younger demographic

I have beaten FFT and I played some of FFTA. I think that Final Fantasy Tactics is better than Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. I thought that FFT had a better story. mrjhoung is right that FFTA is more geared toward younger people. Also I liked the jobs more in FFT than in FFTA. I especially liked the guest characters and their jobs. Overall I think that FFT is better in just about every aspect compared to FFTA.

Really, ive played both, and thought both was quite good.
But its the PS1 original and the Psp remake, The War of the lions that are so much better. between the two of them War of the Lions is the best cause of the additions, wide screen display, beautiful FMV, and voice overs.
Ashe: You're sky pirates, aren't you? Then steal me!

I played both and preferred FFT by far. The storyline was more in-depth and I felt the classes were more efficient in relation to game play.

One of the huge things with FFT was that beautiful balance of "I am the hero" and "political intrigue" elements in the story. FFTA was very kiddy, in the opposite direction of that. It was disappointing there.
On a system note, I really disliked how cramped the menus felt on the screen. It didn't feel good on the GBA.

  22. #52
FFT:A lost the medieval feel FFT had done such a good job in employing. The whole mythology of it, combined with all the classes, abilities, secret characters, and more, made it a superior game. You cope with the characters and learn to love them through their development, where with FFT:A it's kinda just like... is he home yet, or do I have to go apply for another job?
It lacked story structure IMO, whereas FFT had the best story of any I've ever experienced. That alone sticks it on a higher rung that FFT:A.
In contrast, FFT:WotL for PSP has managed to make itself superior to the original FFT.
It is a direct port from the original, changing only the dialogue into a more intelligent, effective, script than the original, while also implementing new content such as extra hidden characters and multiplayer capabilities. It's also portable.

EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot. WotL also has added cinematic sequences, voiceovers, and widescreen display.

The only thing FFT has going for it over WotL is it's originality. It's legacy. It started everything.

That's about it, in a nutshell.

I like FFT better. Its set in a dark time of war, as opposed to be being set in a playful kiddy like atmosphere. That and those damn judges, always made the battles difficult to work around. Dont get me wrong, its still a good game. But FFT has my vote.

  24. #54
I liked FFT way better probably because it was far more mature and had a good story. But I do agree that the variety of enemies was pretty bad for FFT where probably over 65% of the Human enemies were just regular knights and archers where the rest were taken up by sigle battle unique characters, time mages, a few lower class magic users (wizards and priests) and very few other classes but I actually never realized how bad that was until it was pointed out in the original post so I guess it was never that bad...

  25. #55
iv never played fft but iv seen my friend play it and vids for it
but i own ffta and i like it better the laws i no is the big thing ppl dont like but i like them makes so many battles easier and also makes the game more chalenging, but what i dont like about(Rosc sed it) is the variation of races aside from secret characters and story characters

I've played both games, and characters+story is very important to me in a game. The whole idea of having children as the main characters in FFTA was really annoying to me, and the plot was pretty puerile as well, so I'd have to say FFT was much more enjoyable.

I've put Many hours on FFT, FFTA, and FFTA2, and I think both FFT and FFTA are excellent games in their own right.

In terms of story, FFT was dominant. FFTA's story was a HUGE turnoff for me, and after playing it for the first time, I put it down and didn't pick it back up for a couple of years. FFT's story was dark and dramatic, while FFTA was light and geared more towards younger players.

As for the gameplay both games had excellent job leveling systems. I greatly enjoyed FFT's JP system, the wide variety of classes, and being able to choose between male and female characters. Map rotation and tilting was also a huge plus. FFTA's clans were an interesting addition as was weapon-leveling - it took a little getting used to after the JP system, but turned out to be quite enjoyable. It was nice to have races to choose from, but the lack of gender choosing was a disappointing (especially for the Humes).

Overall, once I finally got over the fact that FFTA was NOT FFT, I was able to enjoy it a Lot. While FFTA is a great game, I will always prefer FFT. But I think both games are awesome, and can peacefully coexist with each other.

I have played both FTT and FTTA and must say with that advanced was probably the worst game square has put out. First off the story line was so geared towards the young gamers of the gba and imo unoriginal. The battle system would have been ok if you not for those damn judges! so annoying. I also felt that the jp system was to automated.

On the other hand FTT and WotL both had everything going for it. A very deep, rich and original storyline filled with lots of plot twists and dark themes. Also I liked the battle system and graphics of they didn't seem so cartoonish like the advanced. Also the job learning was very cool and you had a lot more room to get the abilities you wanted to get. I also liked the replay ability to the game was much greater because of all the hidden characters you could go and get. Well these are of course just my opions and they aren't ment to say that other people are to agree with them.

Ah, this reminds of when I was a naive little fool insisting FFT was complete shit, and FFTA was great. I had picked FFT a few times but could get into it, I'd turn the game after like 10 mins and say it sucks. One day years I got the nerve to try FFT again and just started loving it, I see know why everyone like it better.

Story-FFT had a classic epic story with many interesting characters, it when so much futher than the typical "evil" and talked about corruption of government and fighting for ideals. FFTAs story sucked, "Omg, wow so loser kids get sucked into a book how amusing!" Marche was a coward and horrible main character, not like Luso in A2 did much better
Battle System-FFT hands down. i loved the idea of being able to master skills and transfer them to new classes this way you have the ultimate main character, or a knight with a few side abilities, its your choice. FFTAs I don't really remember but it was lame, nonetheless.
Difficulty-Again FFT wins. FFTA had the worst AI on the planet, enemies were always on low levels and had worse stats than yours even if they were on same lvl. The enemy FFTA would just blindly charge you, not taking advantage of obvious vantage points. FFTs AI was hardcore, they made you really think about what your next move should be since you be taken out any minute.
Special Characters(not generic units)-FFT:No ****ing Contest!!!!!!!!!!-FFTAs character were bland, uninteresting and had no unique abilities. Though FFT is full of interesting special recruits, all complete with a good back story and fresh unique ability set making them quite versatile.
Graphics-Again FFT. I just love the sprites, they look unique but they have some kind of great appeal that I just cant figure out, so much good polish, I guess.
Bottom Line-FFT kicks FFTAs ass, buy Tactics Ogre:Knight of The Lodis for a good GBA Stragety RPG.

yay i would agree with you!!! weird that you added Tactics Ogre at then end but w/e.

FFTA story was... interesting, i guess not very original im sure that the whole "sucked into another world and trying to find away out" thing has been done many times.

And in FFT:A2 was just a copy and paste story from the original one, maybe even a less then original story.

Btw how is the system in tactics ogre? i remember playing the original where if your characters died they would die forever instantly, which was such a pain -_-"
