So, who else here likes video game mods?

Dunno? here is my definition

MOD
Cool way to add replayability to a game through changing it.

So, any other major modders/mod players out there? If so, then this is the thread for mod discuccion.

I've been playing the Sims 3 and there are a lot of sites on the internet that have made mods and creative content for it. It makes the game a lot more enjoyable and gives the player a lot more creative freedom. The community is getting really creative now that the game has been out for a while, so I'm looking forward to seeing what else they come up with. If I was to play Sims without any of the mods, I think that I would get really bored, really fast.

I personally don't know how it's done, or I would try to make some great stuff myself. There are a lot of talented people out there, and they do some really great work.

I haven't had any other experiences with mods other than the Sims. I've seen the FFVII mod that makes Sephiroth a playable character on the PC version of the game. I think he just replaces Cloud, though.

Many people including me often don't know the difference between the mod for the game and the expansion. And because of that many of us think that expansion like "Yuri Revenge" is mod, believe me I know few people who think it is. Basically everything that adds something in game or changes the gameplay experience and that isn't released officially by company that made that game is called mod in other words everything that's added unofficial is mod. Counter Strike was before a mod for Half Life but now officially it's not considered to be mod anymore. I personally love mods but more for RPG and RTS games although I found few cool mods for RTS games. The most funniest mod and the mod that I highly recommend is DragonBall Z mod for Counter Strike 1.6. Those who love both tittles will surely like it. Found few FF VII mods but they practically cripple the game making it crash a lot.

Me? I prefer to mod RA2 YR. Let's face it, there are some insane possibilities in that game!
