Outside of the two Dissidia games, I really haven't been captivated by a FF game like I used to. Maybe being older does that to you, but man, I miss a ff game that sucks me in and truly forces me to play it.

You know, I want to argue this point with you by quoting a good Square-Enix game but it's become harder to do so as months pass.
I suppose Kingdom Hearts is still as good of a series as when it was first created and things like Final Fantasy XIII-Versus looks promising.
I suppose you're right, as times moves on and Square-Enix swallow more companies, we're going to see less and less that actually reminds us of the old Square/Squaresoft.

Agree with this thread so much. Since the merge with Enix the games have either been average or just plain awful. I have a theory that since Enix and Square were once upon a time huge JRPG rivals when they were single companies that Enix/ Wada is making the Final Fantasy games terrible on purpose. Yeah Enix is killing the FF series. Ever notice that the Enix games like Dragon Quest and Star Ocean are just fine ? But Final Fantasy is not ?
