Favorite Final Fantasy Music

The music from Macalania woods in FFX... something about that beat is just legendary lol, I listen to it all the time on the soundtrack which is on my ipod which I listen to in my car everyday

FFX is the only game that i can remember music enough to talk about here.
(sorry about the names i can't remember them all)

1. the music that plays as you walk through the Zanarkand Ruins. I cant decide if its meant to be happy or sad as it seems like a mix of both. It sounds like a sad homecoming because, well it is. I know there are many variations of this theme but this is the one that stands out the most to me.

2."Otherworld" i've said it many times, its the perfect accomanyment to Braska's Final Aeon and is one of my favourite songs of all time.

3."Hyme of the Faith". When i first got the game i was actualluy embarresed to play this music while in a temple and even now i wont admit it to people but i think its one of the best peices of music in the game. Call me crazy but i think its actually calming to listen to. It even sounds kinda creepy when it gets distorted in the ruined Zanarkand Chamber of the Faith.

Also on my list is the feild music that are played on the Mi'hen and Djose highroad. (gramma error but i dont know how to fix it):drool:

i like the music from VII IX and X and most of VIII the best song though is someday the dream will end from FFX (music when you get to zanarkand ruins)

Whatever you do, do not listen to The Black Mages version. It's horrible.
I usually perfer female vocalists, but this was just awful.

I just thought i'd add the music that plays during that intro where they're all sitting around at that camp in Zanarkand (im terrible with names). I've been wanting to learn how to play that song since i first heard it.

'Melodies of Life' from FFIX. A high octave scale that just goes up and down and makes me hard in the pant region? Well yes, my boy... Garnet has the body of a 12 year old and the voice of a goddess.

I love Garnet.

I really didn't feel her version of that song. It's just not 'right' in English, nor with such strong vocals.

Out of all the soundtracks i enjoyed VII, VIII, IX and X the most. The only track from X-2 i really liked was Eternity...

I've always loved the orchestral remakes the most. The theme to Final Fantasy 7 gives me shivers. The favorites I can think of:

FF3 Theme (I forget the album, but there's this one with this corny guy who talks about the four youths, but then this beautiful take on the theme cuts in. I think the album released in the mid 90s.)

FF9 Melodies of Life
FFX Suteki De Na
FFXI Opening
FFXII Opening and Ending songs + Final Battle
All of FF13's music for the most part.

There's just too much to list. If there's one thing Square can always manage, it's to have a game with some great music. 12 had the least amount of memorable tunes, but they all have at least a few that find their way into my collection.

FFVIII: Blue Fields, Balamb Garden and Eyes on me
FFIX: The Place I`ll Return to Someday.
FFX: Thunder Plains Travel Agency Music.
FFXI: Selbina

I love it all really but those are the ones that stick out to me. :)

my alltime fav? the theme in FF1 when you go into a shop, or inn. so catchy and i could stay in there for hours just for that song.

"You're not alone" from FF9.

FF9 isn't really even one of my top FF picks but that song and the scene in which it plays really struck me.

basically any boss or airship music as well

Before you could go online and find the music so easily I would totally go somewhere in game just to listen to the music when I was studying. VIII was when i mainly did that so I would go to the classroom in Balamb Garden...:roll:

Final Fantasy VIII's Balamb Garden music is my favorite. Right next to are the following:

FF7 - Aeris' Theme (I'm aware it's Aerith, but nostalgia is a big part of my life. I grew up knowing Aeris.)

FF7 - Flowers Blooming in the Church

FF7 - Interrupted by Fireworks

FF1 - Chaos Temple


There's others I love, of course, but this it the top of my list.

My favorite song from Final Fantasy is "Real Emotion" by Koda Kumi. The English version is alright, but the Japanese is better. Now background music is a totally different story. I love all of the Chocobo Music. It is always so catchy and fun. If only cars or bikes would make that music when in you're in or on one!

Mines a tie between valley of the fallen star (cosmo canyon) Red XIII theme and great warrior.

By the way, i want to say that i love this forum because even i did not finish lots of Final Fantasy i gained a lot information about what I'm expecting when i play it.

My favorite FF song has always been the piano collections version of Terra's Theme from FFVI. It has always held a special place in my heart. Possibly because it was the first FF I ever played and that first experience, that intro, pretty much changed my life in a way. Not in any super significant way lol but whenever I'm down for some reason FF soundtracks always remind me of a time when life didn't seem so complicated. The FFVI Piano Collections especially make me feel good.

I really loved most of FF6's soundtrack.

My favorite FF songs list (not every song is in order):
1)The Price of Freedom (the song that is played during Zack's final moments in FF7CC...which cuased me to cry at the scene)
2)The victory song(in every game and every version of it...becuase the melodies doesn't change, just the harmonies and counterparts do-oops sorry those were musician terms sorry.)
3)The battle song in FFX (one of the songs that made me fall in love with FF)
4)any version of 'the one-winged Angel' (becuase it's Sephiroth's theme song...he's one of my many fav villians)
5)Choas battle song (dissidia version)
*6)the messanger(dissidia)
*7)Cosmos theme song (dissidia)
8)Soldier battle ( from FF7CC made the fight against Genesis go by fast...in my opinion)
9)Fulfilled Desire (credit song to FF7CC)
plus all Chocobo songs along with all the songs from FF7DC
