I WANT THIS SO BADLY.
Seriously, I will be quite disappointed if it does not receive localization. The idea that the game revolves around cheaters and relationships is not only classic MegaTen, but a little above and beyond even for them. I'm not really sure what to expect... but Persona 3 and Persona 4 had so many differences despite being very much the same game that I would assume Catherine can provide the same welcome change.

I saw some gameplay videos (more like one) and pictures from SankakuComplex and -maybe- Kotaku? I'm thinking just SanCom.
I'm really looking forward to this game. I have Persona 3 FES to try out to see if I even like MegaTen games, but I'm confident that I will.
Yeah, I can easily see the PS3 cover being watered down a little bit for the US of A. We do allow M+ rated games, but.. I mean, Hyperdimension Neptunia's cover got changed because the heroine had cleavage, and they decided to block it.
...The art book retains said boobs though!
Well the big talk about Catherine right now is that the game is so brutally hard that Atlus is going to be patching the game to make it easier. Whether that makes different difficulties that are easier or making the existing ones easier I don't know. But from what I've seen it looks to be a tense game that I can imagine only gets more tense the longer you play and the higher difficulty it is.
The gameplay looks a little strange and simple, but I hope that there will be more to it. Atlus is good for delivering a really solid game. Though true be told, I'm more interested in the story and the type of story that they are going to tell this time. Persona 3 and 4 were both awesome games on gameplay and story fronts. So I think Atlus can deliver again, but pushing and pulling blocks to climb a tower seems like it'll get a little odd after a while. So I wonder how long of a game this is going to be and what they will do to mix things up.
Even still, this is quite definitely a day one purchase for me. It'll tide me over until they release Persona 5.
Curious? There's no limits but your own imagination.

I should note that there are multiple videos on the official website, though you'll have to use a bit of clever navigation if you don't know the language. (Pull the cord on the left, and then some of the buttons are in English.)

By the way, Atlus has officially announced a US release, and it looks like they're not changing the box art (though there's still time for that, heh). Here's the official webpage:
Pre-order Catherine, the HD adult horror title from the makers of Persona, for PS3 and Xbox 360! Available Summer 2011.

If you've never played a Persona game, they are ALL about character evolution. Given this is meant to be in a similar style, I'd be really surprised if the game didn't have some incredible character development.

Anybody order the special edition with the shirt, boxers and pizza box package?
The game play definitely looks odd, but I'm expecting a solid game experience. I don't think I'll have the time to play it, which sucks.
I've got the special edition box up on preorder. My girlfriend told me she intends to wear Vincent's boxers to bed. Sad day for me! It's okay, I'll just wear Catherine's shirt and call it even.

I'm unsure about this game. I read an article on it a good few months ago now, and it sounded okay, but I'm not convinced that the final product will be all it's cracked up to be. Tends to be the way with me and anime styled, 'adult' games/films/manga (don't know why, but they always come across as a pervert's wet dream, like I shouldn't really be watching - if that makes ANY sense at all). Special edition content sounds cool though - that would interest me more than the game.
I'll have to wait and see. If I have the extra cash at the time, and some good stuff can be said about it (AFTER release), then it's on my maybe list.
