vincent costume

Hi, just wanted to share my 10 year old sons costume, my kids get to pick out whatever they want and then i make it for them, this year i had a hard time with my sons choice, vincent. it has been my most inaccurate costume yet, due to time running out i just had to get it done instead of accurate. his gun took so many tries and many hours to figure out how to make, it is made of woood, heavy pvc pipe and clay. I searched online and never found many costumes. for future help, next year he wants to be cloud he said, so any help in what it looks like i would love!!!

Thank you, I will get started before october next time. I like a challange, although i think his weapon is large, that might be hard to make it light enough for him to play with.

I think you did a really awesome job on the costume. it dosent look rushed to me at all or inaccurate. It is very well done,i'm not a seamstress or anything but it looks accurate to me. i'ms ure you'll find cloud's costume a bit easier I suggest something light for the sword and maybe not make it too much bigger than your son.

I must say that costume looks great, it is alot better then most of the cos-play pictures I have seen, and I love the detail that you put into his gun and from I have seen the claw looks fantastic also.

Also with the Cloud costum I would recommend sticking with his original costum from FFVII, or if you are up for the challenge the one from kingdom hearts II would be amazing to see. (Sorry I can not supply pictures into it right now)

As for the sword for the costume since it will be made to scale for him (I presume on this haha) I would just make it for visual purposes not for play, anything that he could play with would be way to heavy for him to carry around with for a night haha.

I have never made a sword before but I suppose that you could use PVC pipe for the handle and Foam for the main blade sections of the sword. To give it that metal finish you could always take aluminum foil and scuff it with scotch-bright to dull it down and then glue it on to the foam. It would crush if it takes any kind of impact but it would be light enough for him to carry around all night and not have to worry about his arm falling off from the weight haha.

Any which way it goes keep us posted I think we all would love to see what comes of this.

thanks but it didnt work, i was logged in and it says the samething as when i clicked on the thumbnails, then i log in again with the page it gives me and it just bring back the same thing again, i have disabled everything and still dont work. i did what it said over and over, it says-

by the way thank you, i wish my kids thought i was as cool as you do. i have started on my daughters already, she is going to be ace from kiss, the broken glass costume. it will take a long time so i am getting started way early, will show you the costume and clouds(which i will start much later) when i finish them. I just get a thrill out of figuring out and making accuratley costumes, i do it for fun but if you ever need anything made let me know!
