What Book Did You Buy Last?

I'm not sure if this has been made before or not but anyway. It's just like what the last game and last CD you bought last threads but with book or manga.(obviously)

The last book I got was Sacrifice by Karen Traviss. It is the fifth book in Star Wars Legacy of the Force.

I also got 4 manga books yesterday in the mail. One Piece Volumes 1, 2, and 3 and Bleach Volume 2. My One Piece Volume 1 is Limited Edition, the only diffrence in it that I've found so far is that the cover is shiny and they kept Zolo's name as Zoro.

The last thing I bought book-wise was Black Cat: Volume 3, because I had grabbed 1-13 but 3 wasn't in stock. 14 is out now, but I'm having trouble finding it. That will be my next buy.

I haven't picked up a regular print book in a while now... it's been all manga lately, mostly because it's easy to read while on break at work. Good places to stop are frequent; in a novel, I'm not comfortable unless I get to the end of a chapter.

As far as Manga goes, that goes here: Currently Read Manga

I know it has a different topic name, but I figure they go hand in hand, I guess. Though honestly I prefer Manga to be in the anime forum instead of here.

And there isn't one for books, except for the currently reading that is stickied.

    I last bought:

    .hack//AI Buster 1 and 2
    .hack//Another Birth 1-4

If you want to fly to Cali, cesar, my B&N has 14.

I got Sepulchre, by Kate Mosse. I read Labyrinth and that was pretty good, although it took me forever lol!

When I got Sepulchre, I also got The secret life of a Slummy Mummy, though I'm not too sure about that one... Then again, I've not read much of that - gotta save my concentration for Sepulchre first!

The last book i brought was called 'mummy's witness' by Gayle sanders.
Its a real life story of the writer when she was a child and witnessed her farther murder her mum and how her life was from that point. its sad story, but these books interest me for some reason.

Rasler+, please pay attention to my post. Manga/Manhwa goes in the anime forum please.
And Flash, in the OP manga, Zoro is his name, regardless of limited edition.

The last book I bought were all 5 of The Hitch-hikers guide to the Galaxy books. A great series, I've read them all before but I've been meaning to buy them for a while...

I got some stuff from the school recently for being top of the class in three classes, by 'stuff' I mean £30 to spend on books. So I bought to Richard Laymon books, and a book by HP Lovecraft. I don't remember the names, because I'm not getting them until the 17th of June, Prizegiving. I got £6 left over.
Before that, with my own money, I bought Death's Shadow by Darren Shan.

I've recently bought Micheal Crichton's State of Fear and Next. I love his books.
Life and death are strange things. When you look at your hands, do you think of the lives you give or take with them? Do you feel as if many lives rest upon your shoulders? Or do they end with your hand? Are you a saint? Are you a heathen? Of course not. Existence cannot be defined by such generalizations. We all live in a complex web of life, and affect it in our own ways. When we throw our stone into the water, how big will the ripples be?

What is truly more powerful and destructive; action, or idleness? Words, or silence?

That depends on the definition of buying. If it's buying then that would be Seven Pillars of Wisdom By T.E. Lawrence. If it's obtained then that would be The Reality Dysfunction by Peter F. Hamilton. I find Peter to be generally dire, but the Night's Dawn trilogy seems to buck his trend.

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, Ravens of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley, and Lottery by Patricia Wood. Alas, I've not yet read any of them. Now that I finally have time off I plan on reading at least one of the aforementioned novels. Two are fantasy and the other is mainstream. Haven't read anything from the authors previously so I'm looking forward to the new blood so to speak.

Some books I needed for school next year, along with my summer reading book (picked out of a list of 10): The Kitchen God's Wife. It's okay so far. I've only read 10 pages, though.

Next on my list: Only Revolutions by Christopher Barzak, and his other book The Fifty-Year Old Sword

I didn't techincally buy it, but it does come as part of my schooling this fall.

"Teach Yourself Visually: Microsoft Windows Vista"

It's a part of the home study part of the program I'm attending this fall, and It cost 25K tuition so i might as well have paid for the book. Now for the nightmare of learning Vista to begin...*Insert spooky horror movie music here*

The Taking, Velocity and False Memories, all by Dean Koontz. The first books of his I've read and, I'm impressed. I've still to read The Taking, due to the fact that I'm currently taking part in a Summer Academy program at a nearby University and so have little time for reading, only about and hour or two a day, but the other two were excellent. Okay, breathe. I'm goin to get a lot of boks at my birthday soon though... can't wait

Ohmygawd. I love you. The last few books I bought were:

    -Peeps

Peeps was an awesome book, and I'm looking forward to getting the sequel. I agree, Specials is by far the best book in the series so far. I have not yet read Extras, though. I'm looking forward to reading that one, as well.

    As of yesterday morning:

Dragon Avenger by E. E. Knight

Book 2 of the Age of Fire series. It is told entirely from the perspective of a dragon, following members of a family through their many trials, from hatching to full adulthood. The first book focused on the gray dragon, AuRon. This one is told by his sister Wistala.

There is a third book, and the fourth will be released in December. I just wish they were released in mass market editions, cause the trades are a bit more expensive, hence why I can only buy one at a time.

    Kushiel's Dart by Jacqueline Carey

This is one of the books that's something of an enigma. It's not the type of book I usually read, though it is in the fantasy genre, yet I have a desire to read it. I guess it's curiosity, if anything. I've never read anything by this author before.

A Shadow in Summer by Daniel Abraham

His debut novel and first of the Long Price Quartet. I'll admit it, I browse Amazon's bargain bin for remaindered hardcovers. If they weren't so damned expensive I'd buy them more often. It looks to be a very interesting series and it helps that George R. R. Martin recommends/endorses it, I guess. I hope it's not quite as depressing as ASOIAF.

    Fairyville by Emma Holly

Another author I've never read anything by. Again, it's something I wouldn't normally read but I thought I'd give it a chance. It is, um, adult (yeah, that kind) fantasy, so I'm not quite sure if I'll like it or not. Read often, read widely, that's a writer's creed...or what I keep telling myself anyways. =P

Hmm well I have been reading quite a bit lately.

Anyway, the last book (Or books I should say.) That I bought were "Only the Ring Finger Knows: 1 and 2 Lonley Ring Finger and Left Hand Dreams of Him." They are a form of Yaoi books, and I really enjoyed them. I can't wait to get the last 2.

Reaper's Gale, also by Steven Erikson - Malazan #7

Hardcovers. Yeah, it's a good series.

Those I purchased in preparation for...

Toll the Hounds, Book #8, which I pre-ordered the day it became available. The cover art is fantastic.

And yes, I probably will go back and buy hardcover editions of all the paperbacks. If I can find them.

I'll just add those 3 to the pile of books I need to get to reading. Damn summer reading keeping me from reading my own library =(
