Theme? Sigs? Etc.

So I was thinking about this today, and I think a theme would be a good idea. We already have a theme, per se, with our villainous styles... but we could go further than that if we want by standardizing banners and such. Like, we can all agree on a basic (and I mean basic) template. For example (doesn't have to be this), but like my banner has a rectangular shape, with an outline, and a character with a drop shadow hangs off the left side. Then others could do the same sort of thing within their realms of interest.

I was also thinking that, within the banners, we could each pick out a memorable and recognizable boss theme (or just an evil-sounding theme from a game) and have that as our focal point. We won't be putting the music in our sigs (god no), but we can put our names and then the song title to describe our name. Example:

What are your thoughts? I can get a listing of good boss battle titles if you want. I'm definitely the person to go to for that kind of thing.

Good tracks, but I know "The Day After" is a town theme and not a boss battle song. It evokes more of a pity emotion because it plays in the first city you go into in the World of Ruin. The others, I have no idea. I was hoping that everyone picks a boss battle theme because, you know, we're Evil. It's in the name. Boss battles work. Let me explain.

I wouldn't be opposed to you using some other song if it sounds "evil" enough. I only suggested boss themes because they are composed with the evil attitude of the boss in mind. The music in these battles has to reflect more than just the battle; it has to reflect the boss a player is fighting. Even "Grand Finale," which is what I'm using, was written to accompany the Ultros battle in the Opera House. It's not evil, but it's wacky and devious when tacked on to the opera as a whole---it fits Ultros. If you want to use some non-game song, that's fine. Just make sure it fits the persona.

I'll work on that list after British Literature. I'll also include any personal themes of bosses that are evil enough (Grahf comes to mind).

If we have any music in our sigs---and I mean any type, even just a MIDI---it has to be a hyperlink. If more people did what I did with the music in the signatures, it will cause one hell of a snowball effect when loading threads. No player HTML or anything. That would be very, VERY bad. I've seen it happen.

I won't be linking anything in my own signature because I don't have a host I want to use for this type of thing. And I don't think it's really worth linking a song when the name (and artist) is right there in the signature. I'm sure most people who have played FFVI can identify the song "Grand Finale" if I put a little picture of Ultros by it. If not, a simple P2P search would grant that user the song if they are really that curious.

Not that I condone filesharing or anything! Please! It's illegal! And when they start selling video game soundtracks at my local music outlets, I will throw my gold coins their way and I will delete my game music.

Ya know, you can easily, freely, and legally get video game soundtracks from the 16bit and before systems (NES, SNES, Genesis, Commodore 64 just to name a few) by downloading the "zipped" versions of their chip tunes. Completely free, legal, and best of all, right on the dot for the games. ^^;

Sadly the only good program for playing such files is in Japanese. -_-;

I'm thinking I'm gonna either do Dr. Wily's Castle Stage from MM2 or Dr. Robtnik's theme from Sonic or Sonic 2, as all 3 are quite the evil songs along with Dancing Mad.
