Isn't a flood above ground? Why would your underground lair be vulnerable? I don't understand. o_o
So I woke up this morning before work and went through my usual routine. I went out to my car and heard what sounded like a beautifully flowing river. I live near rivers, but not that near. I also heard a neighbor yell "FUCK!"
The river was a portion of my street. I guess a water main broke overnight. It's kind of frightening on one hand, since my room is in the basement and all of my expensive electronics are also there. A flood would destroy me. But on the other hand, it was nice to sit on my porch for a few minutes and enjoy the sounds of the river.

Water seeping through. My subdivision is on a bit of an incline. My house is at the bottom of it and water goes downhill.
They've shut off the water for my entire street, though, so that's no longer a threat. I think they have trucks outside working on the problem now. But it was cool to see an eruption of water.

I wish I'd thought of that. By the time I realized there was a river, I was already running late for work. I forded the river and booked it to work; no oxen died.

Did a bear or snake pop out of nowhere and try to bite you?

That's why. =P
That sucks if your electronics got ****ed up =T Always good to have flood insurance if you live near areas that "could" flood. So a suggestion when looking for a place to live... High Ground FTW unless you're Anakin. >.>;
