I have no musical taste. People give me music, I listen. I think I'm more pre-disposed to 90's stuff because that's when I actually bothered watching lots of movies and shows and heard all the songs they inserted. But yeah...
Game music I guess?![]()
So, um... there hasn't been a new post in the past, like, two months, so I figured I would start a thread for True Omega to post in the next time he randomly decides to come back, so that he doesn't have to go back two months to find one. Also, I have always kind of been interested to hear what kind of music you folks listen to. I have seen nix mention Dream Theater in the past (and I've recently picked up an album, by suggestion of TFF's own Freya, who seems to have disappeared as of late...) Also, I remember Korova talking about being in a band in the past. What style of music did you guys play?
I like everything... almost. Most country, Gangsta Rap, Hip Hop, and Bubble Gum Pop is very "meh" or cringe worthy. My brother is my biggest musical influence; he pretty much introduced me to every form of Alternative music. I really love New Order, They Might Be Giants, The Smashing Pumpkins, Jimmy Eat World, Get Up Kids, and most ska and punk I listen to (that isn't too "hardcore" and noisy, or political and conceited.) I miss the 90's; most music seemed to be better back then. Anyhoo...

EDIT: Also, several of my links in my sig are music related.

I remember this cover of the Corneria music from the original game; it sounded a lot like 80's rock, or something you'd hear in the original cartoon Transformers movie. And F-Zero. And of course, there's the Mega Man music; the MM2 theme music and Dr. Wiley's level in particular for me. Particularly rockin' guitar covers of those songs. Anyhoo...

I listen to all sorts of Music, rock, certain underground hip-hop, certain country, classic rock, metal (as long as it's not some guy growling at a mic)
My most recent additions to my collections are (according to Zune)
Mtorhead - Best Of
Living Colour - Pride
Jimi Hendrix - The Ultimate Experience
Pink Floyd - Pulse (Discs 1 and 2)
The Raconteurs - Consolers of the Lonely
Dethklock - Dethalbum II
The two most recent I downloaded for a couple songs to add to my "Music that gets me pumped" playlist for when I workout. (Motorhead - Ace of Spades and Living Colour - Cult of Personality)
The Hendrix album was because I just had a mishmash of random Hendrix songs, and the Raconteurs was because I had lost the album in an accidental mass-delete of a lot of music.
I've been into a lot of 70s lately, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Hendrix, etc etc, as well as a lot of early 90s grunge; Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, etc.
nix - I got "Scenes from a Memory."
Sean - If you like Living Colour, you might check out Bad Brains; I hear they were an inspiration to Living Colour. Or maybe they just covered a Bad Brains song. *shrug* Bad Brains' first album was very punk, with like three reggae songs. I haven't really heard much of their later stuff, but what I heard of I against I, kind of reminded me of Living Colour, a little.
Lately... I've been listening to lots of different stuff, but the last stuff I was listening to today before work were The Descendents and All (All is the Descendents with a different singer.) Anyhoo...

Good music? I know it when I see it.
Yes, I see music. Good music has an octarine hue.
Rap and Country looks like the maw of Hell. So does most of the stuff from the last 3 years regardless of their arbitrarily definied and frequently more unnecessary genre-al defenitions.

And by all means, drama with bad taste.
I have absolutely random tastes. If I am midway through a song that I enjoy and my tastes suddenly shift, I will change the station. Sometimes I find a station between frequencies and listen to the static and garbled noises. Sometimes I listen to talk radio and sing rebuttals to the host's political stance.
Hero façade. Villain at heart.
