    Where Are You Now

It has been a while since I have talked with, well, mostly everyone who can see this forum. That brings me to this thread. I only keep in continual contact with two people I met here, and a few others on occasion, so I only know where two people are in their respective lives.

    Where are you?

I graduated from college with an English degree and an emphasis on British Literature---I jokingly tell people that I majored in England during college. But while I have that fancy degree, it means nothing to me. I've been trying to get an entry level job in graphics design with a local company. I didn't have much luck with the job market when I graduated, so I ended up taking a job as an call center peon. Second biggest mistake of my life. I have now taken a menial and decently-paying job elsewhere to cover costs of living, provide health benefits, etc. I also save loads on gas money since it is right up the street. But this is only a stopgap job until I find something in a more applicable field. I didn't spend 4 years in college to do what I am doing now. My project right now is a manageable website design so that I can host my portfolio online.

My plans are to pay off debts then invest in a Nintendo Wii (and an Xbox 360 way down the road). I've pretty much given up on the foreseeable future of the Final Fantasy franchise (say that ten times fast). I still play the games that I own, and fancy enhancy ports of those games if they ever come out, but I feel I'm coming to a close with the RPG genre in terms of future games. I'm just tired of it.

Games I have been playing recently: Final Fantasy VI Advance (Gilgamesh!), Disgaea: Hour of Darkness (Thanks to S), Zelda: Twilight Princess (GameCube version), Tales of Symphonia (second playthrough), Animal Crossing DS (SO MANY WEEDS!), and I am toying with replaying another game from my library.

    I'm still in Columbus... in school still attending The Ohio State University. -_- Sucks, working while going to school, takes up a lot of time, as I'm sure you might be familiar with. Other then that, just chillin as much as I can while I'm not in school or at work. I plan on graduating soon, lol who doesn't eh? =P afterwards iono work for a few more months at my current job while looking for another within my field, then quit if I get a job, so I can repay debts. After a while buy a house somewhere and start my collection of automobiles... lol >.>;

Currently Playing: Final Fantasy XII, I'm like up to the last boss, and that's where I've stopped, I did the same exact thing in FFX too. =T I'm also tinkering with FFXI still, playing occasionally. Also the game Supreme Commander, I've given that a go a couple of times. I'm currently just doing the campaign though, so I haven't met any crazy Online players yet =P

Same old, same old here. Kaz knows what I've been doing since I speak to him quite a bit. Heck, I'm sure most of you know what I've been doing to some extent since I've been able to keep contact or relink with people somehow. =P About a year ago I had to move from Long Beach, California to the San Fernando Valley. I was able to graduate from high school through a GED-like program, and I'll probably be going to college in the Fall. I'm still not sure what I'm going to take yet, probably either IT or some foreign language, or both. Once I take that first step, I'll know for sure.

As for hobbies...I haven't been gaming as much. Or even watching all that much anime. You get very lazy when you have nothing to offset free time (I was doing a lot more when I procrastinated on schoolwork). Currently I'm playing Disgaea 2 on and off, as well as Tales of Symphonia (with inspiration from Kaz) VERY on and off. I'm also really, really into figures now, thanks to Ballz. It is my new Yu-Gi-Oh!, my new Pokemon. Though I'm not sure I'll be able to tear myself away this time. =P

I've been really sick of RPGs for a while though. Disgaea helped sorta renew the interest, and Tales is fun too. If anyone here ever played Diablo or any hack n' slash religiously (YES, I'M LOOKING AT YOU), I recommend the former.

Recently Played: Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories, Mii Creation (), Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Tales of Symphonia.

I'm in Ontario, California. Graduated from college in March '06. Have a crappy job at Barnes & Noble and I need to get a better one.

I'm currently playing Suikoden V, Final Fantasy XII, and Tales of the Abyss.
I got a Xbox 360 for Christmas '06, and got Soul Calibur II with it along with Enchanted Arms. With my christmas money, I've gotten Dead or Alive 4 and Rumble Roses XX along with Dead or Alive 3 and Dead or Alive Ultimate.

I officially have all DOA games except for the Xtreme Beach Volleyball versions.

My years of college were a complete waste because instead of gaining more interest in the major I picked, I liked it less and less and will only do it for myself now and I didn't really learn anything for it in the first place.

Never, ever, go to those techy colleges like Westwood or DeVry. They're a complete ripoff.

    Art Institute is the only good college, and I had an opportunity to transfer there, but the distance was too great. Oh well. -_-;

Edit: Oh, I'm Piroblaze/Kana Mitsu/Shadow Otenaki, etc. etc.

I'm Telegraph/Tom/whatever. I exist still. Hole in the Ground, OR. I've been talking on and off with S for the past few years (and also Great Writer Fuji this past year) and that's about it, because I don't have AIM anymore. It's on the other computer, but that computer freezes up after 5 minutes usually, and the parentals don't want me to download AIM-or anything else-on here. I'm lucky I have MSN, I suppose.

I graduated Linn Benton Community College last Summer with an Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer Degree, majored in (question mark) and then I went back for one more term last Fall. Lately, I have not been doing much at all. I'm doing temp work through Express Personnel, although I also applied at the place my friend works, Allann Brothers Coffee, as a person in the kitchen. I have never done the job I am applying for, but my friend thinks I can do it, and he'd be training me, so... I am also going to Yellowstone on April 24th, and will be there through the middle of September (the 14th, to be exact.) So I will probably be absent for a time in the future...

I've also been writing a story. It's at 512 pages now, and I think it will end up in the 550-600 range, hopefully. I've been finding it really hard to concentrate on writing more of it, lately. I know what I want to write next, too, but it's like I either don't know how to write what comes next, or I just have a strong desire to goof off on it, instead. Kind of like writing a paper for a class, except those class papers had deadlines... I suppose my deadline for this is to get it done by the time I leave for Yellowstone.

I'm still rather religious. I hang out with a group of religious friends. I dunno how that will sit with being in the EBG, but it didn't stop me before, I suppose, eh? (If this were BoD, however, I'd immediately be kicked out.)

Sometimes, I have no idea where life is taking me, and it feels like I am moving very slowly. Other times, I am downright giddy. Anyhoo...

    Wuv, Yer Mom

EDIT: Oh yeah! Currently Playing: Dragon Quest VIII (lotsa fun. Love the Akira Toriyama artwork.) I also just recently played FFX for the first time. I liked it, but not as much as FF6.

I'm in MD atm, still a Programmer/Analyst. Not much has changed..except maybe a bit of my lifestyle. I started going to the gym...my problem is that..I think I lost too much weight and need to build some muscles in the right places. No..not the Arnorld Schwarzenneger type ones! *fistshake* That..or I just need to buy smaller sized clothes. I'm not really complaining though but it's hard for us Asian girls to get clothes our size here in the US.

I've started playing MMOs lately. Right now, I'm playing Titan Quest but I played Guild Wars, World of Warcraft, Ultima Online and City of Heroes/Villains. Still a big fan of Metal Gear but getting a PS3 will take a backseat for now. Watching animes too. I just finished watching Yuyu Hakusho again. Focusing on Rurouni Kenshin. I've seen Great Teacher Onizuka too. It's pretty funny

Ballzy is playing around at Windsor U in order to get an english degree because I don't know enough english. I'm under the assumption that my grades will drop soon and I will struggle to stay above academic probation because I am apathetic to stuff. We'll probably get by and then maybe I'll go teach overseas for no apparent reason.

We ditched TFF like, last year because...I don't know. Wally does though. Thanks to that, the only person we still talk to is S-dawg, who is making me insane. He eloquently convinced us to come back and urged my spending close to 500$ on CRAPPY FIGURES. How I loathe that spaniard.

I am still filled with polarized bouts of thought process and plenty of scorn for everything. I hate FF. I hate FF. I love Megaten. **** anime. **** anime. I love pop art. Oh, Range Murata you make my heart flutter. NODAME CANTABILE.

    I'm a writer but I don't write.

Games are starting to make me sick and not even Wii is saving us. Romance of Three Kingdoms XI makes us want to be conquerors. Ar Tonelico is cutesy/semi-sexual Atelier-style fun. Twilight Princess, Shadow Hearts 2, Suikoden Tactics, Fire Emblem, all of it in near-end-game-limbo. BUDDHA I NEED PERSONA 3.

Wii News is the bestest and so are all of YOU. WE GIVE YOU ALL KISSES AND GROPINGS.

    Lakazoo, do I know you?

OK i'll make this quick... everything has changed

I moved 1 state up-1 state west and then later I moved 2 states south to arrive where I am now! I Mountain Bike regularly (something I did a lot with my father as a kid, usually in awesome places like Moab, UT), go to the gym now too (metabolism slows down in the last half of your 20s i guess.)

Still the same type of job.. Networker/Network Security/VoIP.

Yup yup... I've been playing lately: Phoenix Wright(s), Gears of War (A LOT), MLB 2K7, Dead Rising, SSX Blur, and just picked up GRAW2.

I remember something about an Alpha Weltall, Wylie Coyote, and a Lakatoo. I also remember something about the movie "The Untouchables." Tra la la!

I think I should change my name to Omega Weltall, even though there is no such a thing in Xenogears, just to signify the end of the universe. And I am bored with this name. Let us think of a new name for me!

I do not remember anything about the coyote, although he was my favorite anti-hero in cartoons (Tom the cat a close second). The Lakitu phase is my current username iteration, and it was derived a while ago to safely conceal myself from eyes in the dark that watch my every move. Or did, anyway.

But I do not remember a thing about The Untouchables or Tra la la.

The Untouchables, as in "have you watched the Untouchables yet?" Heh. I suggested that you watch it like two years ago, or something, I think. Right at the beginning of Christmas break one year. I'd like ask you if you'd seen it like every time I'd talk to you.

"Tra la la" is nothing, however. Unless we are discussing David Bowie in The Labyrinth ("Nothing, tra la la?") I believe I saw you have a Wylie Coyote avatar once, however. Like, he was playing basketball, or something.

I think you should change your name to **** Dastardly. Or Dastardly ****. Or Reginald Dastardly, **** Dastardly's brother. Or not. Or very not. Heh. Anyhoo...

I still haven't seen The Untouchables, and I don't ever remember it being a topic conversation between us. But that's probably due to my bad memory. I have also never seen The Labyrinth, but I have seen it mocked.

I think my name change should be something more gaming-related. Something Final Fantasy VI related, or something less unique. I am not a beautiful and unique snowflake.

.... what the **** are all of these smilies doing on the right of the posting input field? What happened to the traditional ones?

Cain has been uploading a ton of new smileys. The old ones are certainly still there, you just have to click the "more" link to get them. Or memorize their text values. Either way.

A FFVI name, eh? Certainly a good call... let's ponder on that one.

I am now known as Rossferatu, if for no other reason than to change my name from that-which-it-was-previously. It combines vampires and Bob Ross into an unholy union of happy trees and rivers of blood. An avatar edit, with fangs and pale skin, is in order. But the fro remains.

The first thing I thought of when I read that was Evil Dead, for some reason. I think Ash says something that sounds like that during his incantation when he's picking up the Necronomicon in Army of Darkness, or something. Plus, I don't know vampires. In any case, it is very different sounding than your other names have been. Yes.

I, on the other hand, will probably remain a Taco until the end of time. Anyhoo...

well you're not far off, Ash says one of two words Kaz combined...

As for me... i thought about coming back as a different name... but then I've been Korova on nearly everything i've done in so long.....

Yeah, lol. But you have so many nouns and adjectives that precede Korova now, you could probably use something else other than Vile if you really wanted to.

"Tra la la" reminds me of.......

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbYtqAWDF2U

    Anyways.....Where am I now.....shit......

I joined TFF in 2001. I was 13 years old. I think I left TFF somewhere between 2004-2005.... And now I guess I'm back. But who knows for how long? Last September I started going to school at the University of Chicago. I originally planned to major in Philosophy or Physics but now I"m thinking about Mathematics, Computer Science, Classical Studies....shit, I'll probably never decide. So I'm living in Chicago. Not very far from Northwest Indiana, the place I call home. Unfortunately I'm not living in glitzy downtown Chicago; instead, my residence is on the south side. On the upside, it's close to a Harold's Chicken Shack, which serves some of the best fried chicken I've ever had in my life.

And I'm still Spekkio....now and forever!

Current Games: Um......none. I played Xenogears and Star Ocean: Til' the End of Time last summer. Since school started....I haven't played any games at all. Maybe the occasional round of Guitar Hero?

But I have been watching a lot of Jeopardy! That's kind of a game, right?

I think there is a European hockey enthusiast and spaghetti western aficionado who should post, though perhaps my memory is playing tricks on me. Hmm...

Sorry if I missed someone though. It's late. Still, quite a nice group in such a short period of time, even if some are MIA.

By the way, guys, this banner Quisty made. Please use it! It's sleek and compact.

Sundance belongs on the list. He has access.

Why am I so far down on it? > j/k

Spekkio: You and your ****ing star ocean. haha...

It's been a long time guys.... I joined in Feb 2001 as something to do while at work. I was immediately thrown into a TFF chat where I later met S around april/may. I dropped out in 2002 and then made the EBG Super S movie in early 2003 without coming back to TFF (i let others post for me)

In a lot of ways I was different back then, but I guess we all were... For **** sake i'm 40 pounds heavier now. Which puts me.... right on target for how much I should weigh.. haha.. I used to be a ****ing skeleton.. I guess beer/eating right/gym set me right.

I did the list in the order I recalled people first posting to the present today. I wanted to get everyone. Not sure if I did, haha.

I still remember how I met Simara to get into that particular chat. I sorta wish I had been Internet saavy enough to save the chats. They were all randomly numbered, I never really thought about it, lol.

You did seem a lot bit bigger in one of your pics from a bit back though...All those carbs from that beer, haha. =P Since the shot was sorta limited I could tell if you were gaining muscle/fat. You better watch out, we can't have our (not-so-)local mountain goat getting tired on us so early.

Has this Magitekno fellow even posted yet? I haven't seen him post anything at all yet. I don't know if I even remember who he is, as a matter of fact. S said something about a "Golden Boy," or whatever, and I was like "....*shrug*" I guess I'm not old school enough. Although I do remember the name "Magitekno" being used, back in the day.

Is Simara still at Eyes on Final Fantasy, or whatever it was? Anyhoo...
