Knights of the Round . . . sounds cool but isn't it 13 people or did I remembered wrong? Hmmm. I remember there was this Turks thing going on along with 1st Class SOLDIER though, but I guess that was for Forum Wars.

The list as Pete has written sounds like a good list. Of course, that gives you a thirteenth slot. Dawezy, perhaps? I mean, face it, he's all about having fun and being superior. He'd be perfect. Also, what about S or Merlin? (Does it really matter? They're admin; I suppose they can come in whenever they want.)

Okay, so that's the list for now.
We've got three slots left. One is tentatively reserved for Ryayukou.
That leaves two, and about five people we could put in those two...

edit: Rya's in. Now, that just leaves us with two. Dawezy and Dau are our best candidates at the moment, correct? We'll see what happens. However, we also have Spike, who was in the original, and Psiko, who's awesome. This could be a tough two spots. We... could always go up to 15 members. It won't hurt. But 13 is our number, so let's stick to it until further notice. I think Spike should get the first of the invites though.

Dawezy didn't seem too thrilled on the whole idea, so adding him would be kinda pointless, wouldn't it? heh..

Merlin, what old members of SOLDIER do you remember that are still around...

speaking of which, if we are going to have a limited membership, why are we adding people like cloud and mike who are semi active at best, though its not nessecarily by choice. We may either want to abolish the membership limit or relook over at exactly what our aims are for here... maybe double the membership or something. Heck... if we are following Arthur... he had 13 knights in some legends... but what about the new movie "Arthur"... he seemed to have had more than that at one point.

Well, you're asking the old members because it's out of courtesy.

Now... even though 13 is ideal to keep that really small "we're way better than you will ever be" atmosphere, I was thinking about how 15 would really seem like a better number. After all, that would leave us with four open spots.

You're right, Dawezy didn't seem too thrilled, but he also could probably care less one way or another. Eh... *shrug* If we want to offer it to him, I'll ask.

If Merlin wanted to be an "actual" member, we could give him one. Again, Spike is a solid spot as well, because he'll kill us all if we don't let him in, seeing as how he was also pushing for the recreation of SOLDIER. Depending upon what Merlin wants, we could still have two or three spots remaining, which can be given out as we see fit. Also, if the previous members who've we've already granted permission decide not to make a strong showing (i.e. they actually tell us they're turning it down), then we can take them off the list and open up new spots as well.

So... out of the four spots remaining, Spike is a solid one of them.

Now, here's the thing with Kevin -- Divine Wolfwood: I wasn't in the original, but I would like in. I was making fun of Jay's post. -- As far as I'm concerned, he gets along great with everyone on that list, and he's probably one of the most mature people around... I told him I was reserving him a spot, and that I'd talk to you guys about it. Pete? James? Skai (whatever you name is because I'm not sure)? Danica? ...any thoughts?

Why limit the number of people to a specific numerical value? It's like wiping your ass with exactly 5 sheets each time.. having the perfect forum isn't a science based on numbers.. it's based on the people you add and their voluntary posting in the said forum.. so why make it specific?

The number wasn't my idea... but after a while, you're gonna end up with 40 people, and the group won't exactly be elite anymore... I suppose I can see why the number is suggested. Which is why I raised that number a bit.

There's a difference between adding everyone and their brother and sister and placing a flexible cap on how many you add.

well, the original SOLDIER was pretty small when it first started out. Then people were slowly added to it. I'm just saying that it might be better to keep it small and mysterious, to have people's interests peaked and shit. I'm all for adding more people, but I think we should draw a line somewhere. It's just a matter of determining that line

Okay Merlin, look... I agree that having an ACTUAL number is a stupid idea. But it's just something to start with. You don't actually expect us to top out at fifteen members, do you? And are you in here to tell us how we should do this, or are you actually going to be a member? Because it'd be better if I knew one way or the other. Right now, I have no idea if you're just in here harassing me or being an actual member, and that's starting to frustrate me. Maybe you're right... perhaps I don't belong here. I'm just a lowly n00b, right? It wouldn't be the first time I've heard that today.

As for everybody voting on stuff in chatrooms... obviously it wasn't everybody because I've never heard of any chat discussions.

I happen to have a dual-role and you just have to realize that..

Member Viewpoint: I have a busy schedule and don't like being left out of discussions over important issues because they are on AIM instead of in this forum. It isn't fair to us who happen to have a time-scrunch lifestyle to be secluded in an empty forum while everyone else is talking elsewhere.

Admin Viewpoint: If you're going to have all your discussions on chat-rooms instead of this forum, there's no reason to have a forum. The purpose of this forum is to talk, which includes voting, etc. Chat-rooms are fine for non-business things, but making business decisions in a chat-room is never fair. Like all Moderators have known since they've joined and has always been the policy there, whatever decisions are made out of the forums are never official. Sure, you don't have to do it that way here if you don't want, but it's worked quite well for us.

Ok... look at it this way Cesar... we put numbers... but even if we had on some ambiguous note... 100 members in SOLDIER... 100 ACTIVE members... aside from the fact it would be the entire TFF population... compare that to the number of members on the website... as I told you earlier... we seem to be sucking in new members like water right now, but thats because we have nobody, and you gotta have a grounds to start somewhere... while im for having a rough idea for a starting number of people, SOLDIER has always worked as a sort of add as you go kind of thing. Now...

Merlin, Loco, try to be careful, you both have valid points, just don't sweat it... either of you, were SOLDIER, we should be friends here... maybe...
