What is the root, the very core of our existence? A body ties us to the physical world and gives us the ability to move about in it freely and easily. It allows us to interact with our environment. But what if this tie was thrown away, what if our shackles were torn off? Would we cease to exist?
That question is something that everyone would probably answer in their own way. But before you rush in to prove your point, why don't you first listen to the tale of those who experienced the unravelling of their ties as they were forced from their bodies. Let them tell their tale.
Setting
Not so far from our own world, there is a plane of existence that is unstable and easily influenced. The true nature of this plane was long forgotten, and now it is primarily a dark abyss. Far off in the distance, you can see the edges of arid deserts, lush forests, deep oceans, and other environments well-known to inhabitants of Earth. They will always surround you, but you cannot reach them.
No, the only way to move about in this universe is with the power of thought- or more specifically the thoughts of astral bodies. If such a being were to focus upon a landscape, creature, or object, the universe would morph to match their thoughts. What was in their head would appear before them. When someone preforms this "amalgamation" of their thoughts and their surroundings, anyone near them at the time will also be affected and transported to a new surrounding or able to see what was created.
This dangerous and lonely world is known as Nadir.
Characters
There are two types of beings in this roleplay.
The Corrivals- These are normal, everyday human beings. The have backgrounds, friends, and homes; basically, they have lives. However, these people no longer spiritually exist in the world of their birth, Earth. Their bodies remain, but their spirits do not. Each and every member of this group has gotten into some sort of tragic accident that has put them into a coma. This event was rather recent, so they remember everything about themselves. However, they do not remember anything pertaining to their accident, and therefore they do not know why they are in Nadir.
In short, when these people were sent into comas, their spirits were sent to and trapped within this unstable plane.
Character Template for Corrivals:
Name: (May be of any nationality. Just please, don't everybody pick some long, Japanese name. This isn't that roleplay.)
Age:
Height:
Weight:
Appearance: (Your astral body, which is what we see for most of the RP, looks just like your physical body.)
Personality:
Background: (Talk about your life...but don't mention your accident! Your character can't remember it. However, you should have a good idea of what happened, since it will be important for the RP.)
The Daemons- The guardians of Nadir. They were once Corrivals but were unable to return to their physical bodies before they died, and were therefore trapped within Nadir. Daemons are often very old, and they can be considered immortal. As they have no aging body, they can exist eternally. They remember almost nothing of their human life, though some of the younger ones may remember a face or two, or a bit about their accident. Their appearances have morphed over time. Since their bonds to their physical bodies have been completely severed, Daemons have no ties to the stable world, Earth. Instead, they are affected by Nadir, and have therefore changed in a variety of ways. These creatures often help Corrivals on their journeys, though they do not reveal the path home. They just give hints and advice and often stay with groups of Corrivals to temporarily escape their lives of loneliness.
Character Template for Daemons:
Name: (Not a normal name. Daemon names are usually one word that is used to describe some creature or object that they either remember or have heard about from Victims. Example: Dragonfly, Path, Monkey)
Age: (of appearance. Please don't give me some number like 1,200,300,689,678,001,223. Not only does that not make sense in a historical timeline, it doesn't give us any inclination of how your character looks.)
Height:
Weight:
Appearance: (Daemons can look human. They can look elven. They can look dwarven. They can look like the abominable snowman or Nessie. They can even look like that unspeakable thing your dog leaves behind at the park when you're too lazy to pick up after him. Have fun and be creative.)
Personality:
Background: (Optional. If you want to put anything here, it must be about their time in Nadir. If they have a person they remember from life, that can go here too. If you have any questions about what else can go here, PM me.)
Plot
This RP will take place in two parts. The first part will be explained below, the second part will be revealed later if this RP lasts that long. the second part will be VERY fun...and I'm not just trying to get you to want to keep this RP alive. *shifty eyes*
Part I- Nadir
The Corrivals arrive in Nadir. They don't know how they got there, but they know they need to get out. They must overcome challenges and be sure to heed the advice of the Daemons. Some Daemons are rather mischievous (referred to as Demons by the Daemons...it's highly derogatory) and will amalgamate the surroundings so that the characters are thrust into a dangerous environment. Sometimes someone will accidently concentrate on something rather...frightening, and the characters will be forced to escape from it.
Just remember that once something has been thought, it cannot be unthought. This means that escaping an object/creature/environment is not as easy as thinking of it being gone, or in the case of environments, thinking of another environment. The only time environments can be amalgamated is when Nadir appears as an abyss. The trick to escaping environments varies. Make sure to heed the advice of Daemons!
The plane, Nadir, has wiped the memory of your accident. To remember, you must overcome the challenges Nadir lays before you. Often times a daemon will hint that you should amalgamate a certain location because something beneficial awaits you there. Benefits include phrases written into the ground or items that pertain to your accident. After you see enough of these, you will start to regain your memories of that time. Not everyone will find an artifact pertaining to their accident at each location, however, and not all locations will have artifacts (like ones amalgamated by "demons").
Important things to note!
You cannot think yourself home right now, as you have no idea where you are or what condition you are in.
You MAY think about your life and memories, but all that will do is cause your memories to play out in front of you and the people you're with. You cannot alter these in any way. It's an instant, embarrassing movie theater though...
Amalgamation does not occur due to a fleeting thought. To amalgamate something, you must focus on it.
To escape a location containing benefits, you must find all of the benefits before Nadir returns to its usual abyss
To escape a location that does not contain benefits, you simply must find the edge of the location. Basically, you just need to walk out of it. But whoever has put that location there probably doesn't want to make leaving easy.

Synopsis
In depth plot information for Part I will be enclosed in spoiler tags below for those who fall behind. Please read it to get help on your posts!
The Beginning; Story Info:
Corrival POV
You have just arrived in Nadir. You're confused and disoriented, and as you float around in this endless abyss you notice others like you...
NOTE: Please don't amalgamate yet!
Daemon POV
Another batch of corrivals have been trapped within Nadir. Observe them from a distance, and introduce yourself if you are feeling so brave...
Amalgamation- "the act of mixing to make a combination"; will be used in this roleplay to refer to the merging of thoughts and surroundings to create something that was not previously present in the plane.
Daemon- "good or malevolent supernatural beings between mortals and gods"; Not to be confused with demon! I'm guilty of misusing this word on several occasions...
Corrivals- "competitors"; this term is used to refer to the coma victims. It comes from the fact that the Corrivals are, in essence, playing Nadir's game.
