Is anyone here on TFF a die hard fan of System of a Down? I have been since a young age due to my father, since either Toxicity or Mesmerize. I find both their first works amazing for song and musical quality, and their newer songs more on the political side, giving it more lyrical strength. It saddens me that they split, even though they said hiatus, but I honestly doubt that.
Anyway, if you listen to them, what's your favourite album/song/era of their music even though they only existed a few years? Also, how do you feel about their "hiatus"? Which member is your favourite and why?

Do you hate these guys? Why? Which members (or all) just flat out piss you off and why?

Well, I Loved System, untill they broke up, damn Scars on Broadway, they suck balls, Serj (probably spelt wrong, iTunes isnt up, lol) is BADASS, The most BADASS member of SOAD. I loved all of Mesmerize and Hypnotize, 2 of the best albums they made. Fav song is either Radio/Video or Kill Rock'n'Roll.

Everyone tells me Scars on Broadway was awful, but I have yet to hear it.
As for Serj being a badass, I wholeheartedly agree. So much talent and modesty, plus the drive to use it for a better purpose among political ideals, I think he could well continue as a one man band and make several new albums that would do well.
My favourites go back to the old days, like Sugar, as the title alludes to, but a lot of their new stuff is good. I'm sure they made a song or two I didn't like, but Daron may have spearheaded those. He's an excellent guitarist and he's pretty cool, but he doesn't need to try and sing in every single song or take so much of the spotlight

I am not what you would call a die-hard SOAD fan, but I am a fan. Some of the songs are just spectacular. BYOB is pretty much a big F*CK YOU to the government which is great. I tend to listen to more of their older singles: sugar, forest, science, and bounce. Listen to the song bounce and tell me it doesn't make you wanna hit someone.

My favorite member of SOAD is Daron Malkian. His vocals are just spectacular, and they work perfectly with those of Serj Tankian.

I am a big fan of Serj's solo songs. Birds of Paradise, and Empty Walls where both great songs.

I love SOAD. Mezmerize is one of my favourite albums, I know pretty much every word on that album. Probably my favourite System song is 'Radio/Video'. Such a random song, but it is great. That and 'Bounce' off of Toxicity.

As far as the other projects, Scars on Broadway are good. Their sound is basically SOAD without Serj. Look up the song 'Chemicals', if you love SOAD, you will love this song.
As for Serj Tankian's solo stuff, I don't like it. I'm not sure what it is, but I cannot get into it. His stuff with the orchestra doesn't sound that great to me. Sorry Serj.

My favourite member is definitely Daron Malakian. Such a talented individual, and I believe he produced all of the albums. Also, having a quick flick through the booklets, he is their chief songwriter. Amazing guitarist, and great vocalist.

I just want them back. I was gutted when they said they were taking an indefinite hiatus. Hopefully, they come back soon and we can go back to having the same great songs.
