    Five Iron Frenzy

I remember back in the day (a few years ago) there were a few other people who were fans of this band. For those who don't know, they were a christian ska band that existed between the years of 1995 and 2003, their final album released in 2004 (a live album of their final show.) A lot of their music also implemented other styles too, like metal, rockabilly, lounge, punk, etc. Most people likely know them for their silly songs, but what I really appreciated was their more spiritual, meaningful work. "Every New Day" remains one of my favorite songs to date, and "One Girl Army," "Second Season," "All That is Good," etc, are other good examples of their more serious work. They were also frequently critical of things like the christian music industry, capitalism, the treatment of native americans (Banner Year, Crazy Horse) and themselves (Eulogy, Plan B).

They were a big inspiration to me during my formative years, and they remind me a lot of happy times, like driving down to California to visit my brother. Their side project, Brave Saint Saturn (or BS2 for short) were pretty awesome, too. They were more dark and serious than Five Iron Frenzy, having only one silly song (Shadow of Def.) They actually came out with an album as recent as last year. Roper-a band lead by lead singer Reese Roper, and I don't remember any other FIF members being in it-had some good stuff, but was not as good as FIF or BS2.

At the end of this year, Five Iron Frenzy is coming out with a new dvd. If you were a fan, you should check it out. I have a link to the site dedicated to it in my sig (and also a link to the official Brave Saint Saturn website.) Anyhoo...

That is a name that I haven't heard in a long while outside of a song Tele. I find it halarious you are bringing this up today because I wa just listening to the above mentioned song earlier today. The song is "God bless Five Iron Frenzy" by a band that was called GodsGeeks.

I was a fan a while back and I guess you could still consider me one though I really don't listen to them to much any more. I miss the old Ska days and wish that hey would come back.

I had a butt load of their CDs and singles a few years back but ended up getting them stolen out of my truck. I wish that I didn't do that, now I must resort to youtube to catch up with them. I will probably pick up a couple of my favorite CDs before to long.

Telegraph, I think it was you who introduced me to FIF, and I really like them. I'm normally not too hot on the whole Christian music thing, but they don't seem to be too intrusive with the spiritual material. That being said, I've been listening to this song all night. And singing. Loudly.
Let's go into the "archives" in "Washington D.C." and find out how people "masturbated" in the "roaring 20's."

Meier, that's no good. Thieves are lame. I've never heard of that other band you mentioned, but I might have to hear that song. Relient K also wrote a tribute song to FIF (or two). And President Polk: probably. It was probably that ska thread, eh? Glad you took my advice. And that song is pretty damned awesome. It's off an awesome album; I think Electric Boogaloo might be my favorite of theirs. The Quality is Job 1 EP is also really good, and a lot of people consider that one their favorite. Anyhoo...
