I love the Evanesence band but I love the songs: Going Under- My Immortal -Everybodys' Fool- Whisper- hello- Bring me to life- Missing
Well, you've probably guessed this is thread about Evanescence, lol. We all know I was bound to make a thread about them one day lmao.
Anyway...
So yeah. Basic band thread. Explain your opinions, etc on them.
Here are my thoughts...=D
They are my absolute favourite band. I've had loads of different favourite bands, and they always come and go, so in a couple of months you may find mee being interested *Cough, Obsessed, Cough* in another band, and then have mee ranting on about how they're my favourite band, BUT in this thread I'm stating that Evanescence are my favourite =D So anyway...I'll explain why they are now. Well...it's kind of easy and predictable really. Their moosic is awesome! lol. I own about 70 songs by them [It's not enough! XD] And Amy Lee [Who's name is now actually Amy Hartzler] is a great icon in this type of moosic industry, and I look up to her as an idol. Her voice is kind of amazing, although I'm not a big fan of her voice on live tracks, but that's only when you compare them to the non live ones, and everyone prefers the studio records rather than live ones anyway lol. Just sounds better. But it's supposed to...meh. Anyway...
Favourite songs by Evanescence:
1. Tourniquet
2. Cloud Nine
3. Going Under
4. The Only One [The Duck Song =D]
5. My Immortal
6. Everybodys' Fool
7. Whisper [Obviously, it's my username lmao.]
Those were just a few of them. If I said all of them then I'd be here all night lol.
Okiwa. I'll shut my big Evanescence-filled mouth now. Rant on ^^

I do love Evanescence. Been into them since they released their "Origin" EP and nobody had ever heard of them, haha.
It's almost out of habit now that I continue buying everything they release. I own every disc and DVD they've ever released, and I'm fairly sure I know every word to every song.. But that's just my memory. I remember all lyrics.
Favourite songs of their's?
-Tourniquet
-Sweet Sacrifice
-All that I'm Living For
-My Immortal [How could you not love this ballad?]
-Imaginary
I've been on this site since 2006 woah
I remember when I used to be obsessed with Evanescence. I was like hardcore into them for a while. Everyday, I would at least play a bunch load of theirs. Now, I'm not as obsessed as I used to be but they're one of my favorite bands thgough.
I was sorta sad when Rocky and John left the band though. Same with Ben but then again, we know why he left. The Evanescence now is a lot different then it used to be. Now Amy is the only original member of the band. I gotta admit though, I really didn't care for Terry at first. I liked Ben better. But after hearing The Open Door, I'm liking the new stuff they have out.
Meh but Fallen was my favorite out of the three. I liked every song on that one. But I have to be in a certain mood to listen to some of their songs.
Favorite Evanescence Songs?
-Going Under
-Tourniquet
-The Only One
-Your Star
-Away From Me
-Sweet Sacrifice
-Whisper
-Imaginary (Both Origin and Fallen versions)
-Hello
-My Immortal
-My Last Breath
-All That I'm Living For
-Weight Of The World
I really liked Evanesence...until I heard the new CD.
There wasn't one song on the new album that I liked.
I prefer Evanesence's older music.
My favorite songs are:
Anywhere
Bring Me to Life
Even in Death
Everybody's Fool
Haunted
Imaginary
Imaginary (Alternate)
Taking Over Me
Wash It All Away
Where Will You Go (Reprise)
Whisper
I used to like Evanesence for a while but I didn't really fancy their latest album all that much either. My favourite song by them has always been Tourniquet. And I remember seeing an interview with Amy-Lee and she wasn't how I expected her to be, so I wasn't a big fan of her personality after that, and she also seemed much more pop/hip-hop then her punk/goth image led me to believe, but then that was only one interview so I can't really judge her on that.

This is something I found out from Evanescence that may be of interest to you...
Back when Bring Me To Life was number one on nearly every chart, it made number one on a Christian Music Chart. WHen a reporter asked one of the members how it felt to be number one on a Christian Music Chart he said, "How the **** did that happen?" Needless to say, the next week, evanescence wasn't seen anywhere or heard on the christian music media.
But to the thread...I do like Evanescence. They are one of my top favorite bands. Its mostly because of Amy Lee though. I see her as a very talented musician and she should be around for a while, even if she takes it solo.
I like most of her songs, but I'm a big fan of My Immortal. We shall se what she has in store for us with this new album...
So now you’re suffering the fallacy of what you said
When you uncover the depression from where you’ve tread
Breathe over the glass you wrote on
Swallow all that you waste your throat on
You wear the mark and wave the banner they made with sin
Revealing every single lie that you’ve been breeding within
Wash over the skin you’ve broken
Think over the tone you spoke in
Ha, I remember seeing the video to Bring Me To Life YEARS ago... I'm guessing around 4 or 5... And I HATED Evanescence! I never thought that a few years down the track, I'd be hunting for the albums Fallen and The Open Door. I guess things change - I remember the day when I was crazy for Busted lol! Still like them, but... just too... kiddy now!
I guess I warmed to Evanescence starting at this site. There are quite a few fans here, and I guess I started asking around at school, seeing if anyone had some music on their phone that I could listen to. No one, but I saw the Bring Me To Life video on TMF (I think... got too many music channels, but TMF is my fav...), and I thought it was BRILL, LOL! Then I got hold of the albums, sat around listening to them, and LOVING them!
Well, I'd never heard any of the songs on The Open Door until I got it, and I do like some of the songs. I prefer Fallen though...
Favs songs:
Fallen:
- Going Under
- Bring Me To Life
- Everybody's Fool
- My Immortal
- Tourniquet
The Open Door:
- Sweet Sacifice
- Weight of the World
- Cloud Nine
One surprize when I bought Fallen was the song Everybody's Fool. I loved that song when I first heard Evanescence, but I really didn't know it was by them lol!
Thanks God you revived this thread. ^^

- My Immortal (Band version)
- Bring Me To Life
- Haunted
- Tourniquet
- Taking Over Me
- Lost Control
- Lithium
- The Only One
- All That I'm Living For
- Weight Of The World
- Give Unto Me
- Field of Innocence
- Lies
- Eternal
- Even In Death
- Snow White Queen
- Where Will You Go
I've been looking for a band with this kind of overwhelming emotional intensity for a very long time. after listening to Bring To Life for the first time. I have become a massive Evanescence fan. All their albums are amazing, Each album has its own unique quality and shows a great diversity in sound for the band. Amy Lee has such a powerful and crystal clear voice that makes it almost impossible not to love her singing. She is a Goddess.
Now, I can't imagine myself living without listening to Evanescence everyday. I am officially addicted to them!
I totally agree and I honestly don't think they are a Christian band. Evanescence has been called a Christian band, and even though members of the band are Christian and their lyrics do imply this and that, it’s all really up to listener interpretation. Think what you would like because they do not enjoy the label of being a Christian band and I can grantee you that they grow tired of getting the question "Are you a Christian Band?".Originally Posted by Slick

-Sweet Sacrifice
-Going Under
-Lithium
-My Immortal
-Call Me When You're Sober
-Everybody's Fool
-Lacrymosa
Evanescence has always been one of my favourite bands. Lately however, with all the Ev sigs around, I have listened to them more and rediscovered why I fell in love with them in the first place. The amazing instrumentals, and of course the awesome vocals of Amy Lee. Honestly, she makes all other vocals seem boring in comparison. She has the most amazing pitch, never misses a note and her range is astounding. My favourite vocalist of all time.

As Demon Hunter said, Each album has its own unique quality and shows a great diversity in sound for the band. You don't see this often in many bands. For instance, Sevendust is an awesome band, but it has been quite the same for them for a while, same goes with P.O.D., and alot of bands nowadays.
Not alot of bands out there can hold their titles up. Bands like Evanescence, Disturbed, and yes I will say it, Linkin Park, keep music at a fast pace of change for the media to hear.
Amy Lee has it in music. She has the vocals, the instrumentals, the ambience, everything. What I have to say that people need to realize, without the musician, there is no music.
I have said before and will say this again, Amy Lee is very talented in music. And to my opinion, she definitely deserves more respect for that. I heard one time on a radio after the song "Broken" played, that it was Seether ft. Evanescence. And being the music freak and OCD person I am, I became so pissed that I called the radio station and told the D.J. that it was Seether ft. Amy Lee you dipshit.
So now you’re suffering the fallacy of what you said

Evanescence is a great band. I didn't really care for their second mainstream album, though. It had a sort of sell-out feel, to me. I throughly enjoyed Fallen and all of their previous EPs and Origin, though.
Favorite songs by them:
-Give Unto Me (omitted from "Evanescence EP")
-Exodus
-Imaginary ("Origin" version)
-Lies
-Whisper ("Fallen" version)
-Fields of Innocence
-Eternal
-Ascension of the Spirit
-Understanding (Original Version from "Sound Asleep EP")
-Hello
-My Immortal
-Forgive Me
That Amy Lee broad has a nice voice and is nice to look at, but I can't get into the music. I'm into Marilyn Manson so I'm not making a comment on how the fanbase is largely (not all, so don't pull some personal attack shit on me) made up of angry little kids; I have no room to say anything there because the Manson fanbase is retarded and half of what makes him look so bad. No, it's just that I can't get into the way they choose to express what they want to express. I find their music boring.
I love evanescence they used to be my favourite but now within temptation is top and evanescence comes second. i like amy Lee shes talented. The best cd is fallen
fave songs

I always like Evanescence, but I fell out after I got
Anywhere But Home. I just haven't been compelled
to buy any more of their albums.
I love Evanesence!!!
