Salt is actually not bad for you. Your blood pressure won't rise because you won't have a high carb intake. It's like a balance. As long as you're not drinking salt with your meat, you'll be fine. Most meat has 0-1 gram of carbohydrates per serving. It depends how they're cured and prepared. Honey ham and other such sweet meats would be out of the question, while bacon is not only fine, but encouraged.
