Conversation Between Order and Rowan

  1. Yeah, true. Everyone needs a cause.
Well, here's to playing the hand we are dealt, right?
It seems like my only choice at this point is to try to take some online courses while I continue to look for work. That shit is a catch 22 and should be illegal.
  2. Well most people here are very strident about their socialistic agenda. It bleeds through and its very visable in certain topics. I'm in a similar situation to you, education wise. Hopefully everything works out for the best.
  3. I hear ya, this is a very uptight group. Which now that I think of it is pretty ironic, considering that they probably accuse me of the same.
Whatever, it is hard to have a conversation when nobody wants to hear you.

Well, I disappeared because I went to college for electrical engineering. It didn't work out financially (but at least I got 'A's).
I don't think my brother's ban can ever be lifted, haha. Not that he gives a shit.
  4. The only reason I dont post often is because people often dont like what I have to say. Im glad to see you back and posting. Where have you been anyway? Can your brothers ban get lifted?
  5. Hey man.
Thanks. I'm having trouble staying motivated to continue writing my same old stories, not that it seems like you and the rest of the slouches (haha) can help with that, but at least I can write something.

    Anyway,
    What's up?
  6. Welcome back
  7. They wont come up with anything intellectually or emotionally moving.
They are bitching about the struggles of relativly comfortable middle class, first world citizens. The fact is they have the right to be gay and everyone else has the right not to care. I came into the discussion with a solid understanding of the issue. There were a lot of homosexuals, men and women in the military and I worked with plenty of them directly as a peer and a subordinate.
Most of their struggles, even at the time where it was unacceptable in the navy, were purely instigated by the individual, rather than bashing or crusading.
I even used a line I picked up from a mentor.

The problem they have is that when the topic comes up in their day to day life, they are not prepaired to let another individual belive whatever they want. Pressing a difference of opinion leads to conflict which many people are not equipped to diffuse through direct conversation.

If the conversation does continue, it will become apparent that just like most other humans, they need a cause to fight for.
