  1. Very interesting. I might have to go and pick up a few of them to see how they fare. I'm always interested in something that will keep my attention longer then ten minutes.
  2. Answering your question about what Harry Turtledove books I've read that are good: I've only read the Darkness series which is about an alternate take (duh) on World War II with a magic spin. Dragons replace planes. Eggs are bombs and grenades. Behemoths are tanks. Leviathans are ships/subs. The german country looks Scottish or Irish, performs circumcision (the only ones in this world), have italian names. While the jews are blonde hair and blue eyes and had an empire that is similiar to the Roman Empire. There are six books in the series and I found all of them to be very good.
  3. I haven't accounted for my taxes yet... not sure how much I'm getting back. Thuogh, I'll probably just throw it towards my currently reaccuring bills (Elec/Gas/Internet) to get ahead for the move.
  4. I'm waiting for my tax returns to get a new tv. In the meantime I'll be using the main tv of my house when it is free or my girlfriend's whenever I visit her and that is free as well.
  5. I want to move into a new apartment... so the choice comes down to having to pay Deposit / 1st months rent by myself (as my 'roommate' choice seems to be a flake) or getting a system / tv (which I need to get a new one also), I'm up in the air... March I have a good chunk of money coming in that's not accounted for bill wise, so I'm planning on grabbing both a new tv and a ps3
  6. Why not get a PS3 towards the end of this month or now? Do you not have the money for it currently? I would check with your local store to see how PS3s are selling at the moment and go from there. If they sell quickly then by the time March comes around, more people may be coming out to get their PS3s for FFXIII and God of War III, so it may be best to get one as soon as possible and let it sit in your room and know that you have one when the time comes rather than hoping.
  7. read a few of his books awhile ago... wish i could remember which one... I know i've written a number of essays about alternative history much to the chagrin of professors. If you have any decent ones to re-start with, let me know... I'm out of things to read currently.
  8. Read your prefer to read historical fiction; do you read alternate history as well - such as Harry Turtledove?
