Some of that technology in those games I listed (FF, FFII, & FFV) was from an ancient civilization, but some of that was created pretty close to when the game happened or during the game. Like the Dreadnought & airship in FFII. The Fire Ship & Crystal Amplification machines in FFV. Plus Cid later works on the airship to transform into a seafaring ship and sub. Really though if there was technology in the game then it was there. Having it created XXXX amount of years ago doesn't change the fact it is present in the game. The amount of technology makes it more or less high fantasy, which those games did not have a lot.
