I'll go down the list and change settings to see how everything works. I'll let you know, Thank youuuuuuu <3
I don’t think you need to worry about your laptop wearing out. Even if you are consistently running your processor(s) at 100% as long as you keep it cool, it should be fine. In most cases, the last thing to stop working on any system would be the processor. Anyway, your laptop should really be able to run both applications fine. Initially, I thought your processor would be the problem but you’re running a dual core processor with 2 gig of ram so it should be fine… I can’t say if the advice I'm about to give you will help, but I haven’t used Camstudio for almost 2 years and when I did it was only once or twice. Hopefully it will reduce the lag a little bit though. - Change setting too: Capture Frames every 33 Milliseconds, Playback Rate 20 Frames/seconds. Remember to untick Auto Adjust as well. - You mentioned it lagged less while you were running the DivX Codec? It may be a codec problem so test out all the codecs you have. As I recall, the Lossless codec provided by Camstudio worked well for me. - You may also want to lower the “Set keyframes” to 20 if the above settings don’t have any affect. This is all I can think of really. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help. Hopefully you will see some difference though, good luck!
As for program, I was trying out Camstudio. Also, I'm trying to do this on my laptop at the moment since our desktop is toast, which actually makes me worried because I'm not sure if it's such a good idea to try this on a laptop :s bad idea? Since I'm an idiot, I took pics for you..yay noodz! KiDDING here's my general : http://i40.tinypic.com/2mea045.jpg Here's my cam studio settings: One: http://i39.tinypic.com/2it2zh4.jpg Two: http://i41.tinypic.com/2i0zt6g.jpg Three: http://i39.tinypic.com/2czujwx.jpg ^ this was while I was recording, it actually had a problem using the DivX codec when I used PSX so it went to default. With the DivX codec installed it lags less, the only thing I'm worried about though is wearing out my computer, since it's the only one I haz D: lol thanks for the help
I can try. What program are you using to record? Something like fraps encodes in real time meaning it requires a lot of processing power to keep going. Fraps itself is very system dependent The reason you probably experience lag while recording your PSX game is because it takes up more CPU power than the Sega games. Running the game alongside a recorder takes up even more CPU power hence the lag. If you can post me your processor speed (Right click my computer > Properties > Click the General tab) I could give you some more suited advice. Also, can you tell me the fps rate of the game before & after you start recording + the settings you have on the recorder itself. Here are a few things you can try in the meantime. - From my experiences, I have found that even when it lags while recording sometimes the videos come out alright. Record a bit and see what it’s like. - Depending on which program you use, try lowering your screen resolution or in game details. It could help save some processing power so there is less lag. Try to keep your game & screen resolution the same. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions
I had a question and thought maybe you would know I was recording game play and I noticed on my sega emulator, I have no problems but when I try to record on my PSX emulator it lags/ slows down pretty bad. Any idea why that might be happening D: ?
