I'm taking it slow lol. I don't want to beat it just yet - I want to enjoy every moment of my first play through. Already I've had tears in my eyes, felt the pressure of one situation when I didn't know what to do, and panicked. I'm absolutely petrified of small spaces, and that part with the tunnel and glass freaked me out big time. @_@
Oh man, I can't wait until you beat this game. You're going to LOVE it! Two of my friends had totally different endings from each other and from me as well. It's so neat to see how their game turned out vs. how mine turned out. I'm anxious to see how yours turns out also.
I have in my possession Heavy Rain - the Special Edition! =D I'm not going to open it until later though. I should be at college but I'm home looking after my nan and doing work. =(
Haha, my partner lives on the west coast, and my best friend lives in the mid-west too, so I'm always thinking eight or six hours back. Seriously, during half term last week, I felt as if I'd swapped to their time (I was going to bed at around 4/5am, and waking up after mid-day lol).
I'm in the Midwest, so more like 6 probably. When I stay up until 6 AM here, it's probably around noon over there for you ^_^ So next time you're eating lunch, remember that a few of us over here are just going to bed!
Huh? No, I have lol. The only one in the series that needs to be completed is MSG4. You're in America? I have a feeling it's five or six hours... depending on if you're North or South... I think. It's about that.
Wait wait wait...you haven't beaten the original yet? O.o And I can totally sympathize with you having the evening off to game because that's also what I do. Too many distractions during the day. How much farther ahead is your time zone than our eastern shore time zone?
Oh mai. xD I've got to that bit quite yet. I got to the part just after you defeat Raven in the battle tank. xD I love all the references to other games and real life events in MGS. I just love the humour, and the way the game makes you feel involved. Kojima is a genius. Haha, noooo. I'm using Heavy Rain as an excuse to spend some alone time in my room. He doesn't live with us any more, and comes around way too often. He came over on Tuesday, he's coming over tonight (well, he said he might), and again on Friday (and he'll stay until 1am because he works night shifts). I love him because he's my dad, but my evenings I value very much in the sense I only get to play games to a certain hour because of the volume, and because I enjoy talking to my closest friends who live in America (so sometimes I stay up really late... 5am the other evening x_x).
My favorite part of MGS4 is when you start to go down the stairs (after the area where you killed Sniper Wolf 10 years ago and Crying Wolf in this game) and Otacon phones you on the codec and tells you to swap discs. Then he realizes you're playing on a PLAYSTATION 3 and you're using a Blu-Ray disc with a 25Gb capacity! There's no need to swap disks! ;] I love it! Poor Dad! You'll have to let him watch you play it! Haha.
I've just got to the Shadow Moses part of the game. I was amazed at the likeness. I knew almost immediately where to go, and couldn't resist going off track for a while to see everything. xD Next week? Haha, by Sunday. I plan to spend every waking hour playing Heavy Rain from when I get it. My dad is coming over Friday night, and I've already told him he might not see much of me. xD; It certainly sounds useful. I might try it out and have a go. =D
Haha, yeah, MGS4 in a day. I picked it up at 10 AM the day it came out and took it straight home. Only took breaks for food and whatnot every few hours and completed the game by 6 AM the next day. Took 20 hours, but I did it! It just had me hooked the whole time. And Act 4 is a work of art. Seeing Shadow Moses Island all ice covered and worn in EXACTLY the same layout of the original game was like a homecoming for me. Playing that for the first time is seriously one of my favorite moments I've ever had while gaming. Heavy Rain didn't take 20 hours, but it definitely had me hooked. By this time next week, we should be able to talk about it! And the PSN text chat is really easy to use (if used properly). Basically you create a chat room and both of us enter. If you're playing a game, you access it by pressing the PS button which brings you to the XMB. If you do not hit O to get out of the chat room and instead just hit the PS button to close the XMB, every time you press the PS button it'll bring you straight to the chat room. No need for message opening (like how we've messaged before). The other good thing about it is when someone sends a text message through the chat room, it'll show up with what they said in the top right corner of your screen if you're not actively in your XMB looking at the chat room. It's really neat once you figure out how to efficiently use it.
You completed MGS4 in a day? I've not even finished it yet, and I've had it a year! XD Well, I didn't want to finish it so quickly so I'm taking my time... and I didn't play it for a long time, so restarted so I'd pick up the story again. =S I've never used the instant chat thing on PSN. LBP has a chat thing too, but it's are I get to use it. xD;
There's replay value, alright. I have a bad habit of beating my games in one day *cough MGS4 cough* but that doesn't detract from the enjoyment. I'm eager to start playing it all over again and get a different ending! And if you aren't able to get a headset, no worries. Not many people know this, but the instant chat feature on the PSN is actually very handy and very useful.
Oh mai. You beat it? I guess there's a lot of replay value when you think about all the different pathways and options and such, so it's no biggie. I so can't wait. It's almost like an ache now. ;-; Wooo! That'd be cool, and I think I'd like that. T'is a shame I don't own a headset though. I could probably borrow one from my mum or step dad if they have a spare handy.
I'd love to play LBP with you if you ever want to! And on a side note, I beat Heavy Rain, and I think it's probably in my top ten favorite games of all time. I'm not joking. Without giving away spoilers, I will tell you that you're in for one incredible ride! It's SO worth the wait!
