Yeah, it was an unplanned hiatus due to lots of RL crap, but now I can relax a bit and get back into things. Hopefully no one's too mad at me for leaving without any sort of announcement. >.<
Well, feeling something after reading a story is generally a good thing. XD I try to keep my stories open to interpretation; I do admit the idea for that story creeped me out a bit too though heh. Not in a scary way, just unsettling.
Some people "got" it, some didn't. I think the problem was because I was playing with a somewhat abstract concept (if you want to be technical I inverted the original concept), and if the reader didn't figure out what I was playing off of, the story just didn't work.
That means I've done my job right. Glad you liked it. ^^ When I was originally having it critiqued and all I got quite a few mixed reactions, but I am satisfied with the end result. No rush on the writing by the way, take as long as you need. I'm not going anywhere. I won't even send anything out to be read until I've done at least one revision anyways so I probably won't have anything until the end of next month, minimum.
Sure. I can beta for you in return if you'd like. I prefer having my own work ripped to shreds but I can crit however hard or easy you'd like.

Yeah, the publishing industry is notoriously slow. >.< Not to mention painful with all that rejection. Layers and layers of it! Blarg. I'm fairly slow at producing work so that doesn't help much either. Anyways, I have a flash fiction piece over at Flash Me Magazine (no it's not dirty lol) but you do have to have a subscription and it's an older issue. (Although I could e-mail you a copy of the story if you really want to see it.) Was a runner up to a contest awhile back as well, entered that one for fun really. I don't submit very often cause I'm just never satisfied with my work, but I've a couple of shorts in production right now that I plan on sending out once I'm done. Plus all the novels. x-x I'll probably be looking for beta readers for my short fiction within the next month or so.
No novels yet, though I've had some short fiction published. Novels, alas, take a very long time to go through the publishing process. It can take years.
