The Ys series are action RPG (except for Ys strategy spin-off) and you run around hacking and slashing monsters, however in games like Ys I, II, IV (dawn of ys and mask of the sun), you ram into your enemies in certain directions (from behind or sideways). Its similar to Zelda in exploration in gameplay but its more action oriented and each story is based on the main character, Adol's, journeys through different continents that are in the game. In the first game he visits the land of Esteria and he is there based on the tales he heard about the land. Adol is an adventurer and he basically goes whereever he can find adventure basically according to the series. The mythology each game presents is pretty interesting and cool. As for the games you're looking at for best bet. Chronicles could be found on amazon, or digitally on the PSN. The Wii shop channel one goes for 600 points if I remember correctly. Chronicles goes for 20-30 in the used price range on amazon. Theres two editions premium and normal. Premium comes with a soundtrack CD of the game if that's your kind of thing (the other PSP Ys's are like that too). The PSN digital download of the game costs 14.99. Hope I covered everything! lol
Aw, thanks. Now I'll go find a translator for all that Sounds like the Ys I&II Chronicles for the PSP would be my best bet. That, or the Wii shop channel - Now I just have to collect the dough for it So, how does it play, is it like a turn-based thing or what?
Well the first series is on several platforms actually: (had to copy this from wikipedia) X1, X1turbo, MSX2, FM-7/77, FM-77AV, NEC PC-9801, X68000, Sega Master System, Sega Saturn, Famicom, Nintendo DS, PC, Apple IIGS, PlayStation Portable, TurboGrafx/PC-Engine CD-ROM, cellular phone, and on the Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console service. The best versions are on the TurboGrafx CD which could be found on the Wii shop channel or emulated, the PSP one (Ys I&II Chronicles), and the PC version which would have to be imported since its japan only and there is a english patch to play Ys I&II in english (there is a download for the full pc game too btw) and if you want theres also a translated rom of Ys I for the famicom/nes and a rom of the sega master system.
Wow. So I'm not the only one playing old games *Yay!* Front Mission 4 is basically FF tactics but the characters are fighting in huge mechs. I haven't figured out the smaller details yet, there's so many, but I think it's fun in a vaguely confusing way... O.o That sounds so awesome, I MUST get into that series. What platform is the first game on? And I listened to Ancient battlefield just now. I might already be in love with this game
The radia game is on NES which could easily be played on a emulator. Kirby Returns to Dreamland is for the Wii. Also I have played the Ys games, I'm a huge fan of the series. My favorites are I&II, Origins, IV, V, and Oath in Felghana. Top favorite would have to be the first game in the series.
Hey, which systems are those on? I'd love to hear about it! (I've got to work on being less nosy =_=') I'll check them all out! So, have you played the actual game Ys?
Yeah they're pretty good. The radia war is a fan translated RPG title, the other is a normal adventure game but they're good. I'll pm you later about the girl detail. Glad you liked the ys song! There are other songs from the one you just listened to. I recommend listening to ancient battlefield, road to sanctuary 1 & 2, water palace, sanctuary, and decisive battle.
Hmm. Never heard of those. Any good? Wow. Poor thing. You're taking it rather well, considering. So, is she making you wait, or has she totally blocked you off? I'll check it out and post again after it buffers. Can't wait! EDIT: O.o That's pretty good music for a video game! I listened to it three times!
I'm currently playing Chronicle of the Radia War and Kirby Returns to Dreamland. The person I was interested in, her name is Courtney, but however, we've been talking and she wound up expecting this one day so, i'm backing off of that... yeah. and here's a song from the latest Ys game, I think you'll enjoy this one Ys Celceta Sea of Trees - Crater of Gidona (BGM) - YouTube
Meeting new people: That's nice. I'm jealous. Playing a lot of games: me too. Keep switching between Front Mission 4 and drakengard. What're you on? Staying positive: That's the trick, right? Interested in someone: May I enquire who the lucky someone is? Soundtrack: I wanna hear it! Could I get a link? And I think I read some manga on detective conan. Is that the one where he turns into a kid?
Well the usual mostly with school and stuff, however, I have been getting out and meeting new people. I've also been playing a lot of games, I also been watching an anime called detective conan. As for more recent things, I'm doing my best to stay positive about things, it is quite a challenge especially when you're interested in someone. Right now I'm listening to the soundtrack songs from the new Ys game that came out in japan and it is candy to my ears. I really, really, love it haha.
I'm usual. Watched J. Edgar last night (I srsly can't beleive Clint Eastwood produced and directed that thing). Haven't heard from you in a while, what's up?
Hey cyanosuke, how are you these days? whats the latest going on?
That's the thing. In the article I read, other scientists were trying to discredit the findings, saying they found trace amounts of the virus (harmless) still in his blood. Whether or not the fragments were the exact virus he originally had or were newly introduced to his system is unknown. *x-files theme* I feel vaguely nerdy. Oh, man, my nose is bleeding again.
that sounds interesting, it would be nice to know that it would work for other people that are infected
