It's up to you. If you feel comfortable enough to work on other genres, then I say go for it. Always good to try new things.

IO put more effort into the Jason one, as you can see! Here's another one. A kid sits down, and starts eating a hot dog, when Michael pops around a corner, and cuts the hotdog in half, he then reaches into his coat, and pulls out a nice, large, delicious looking hot dog and gives it to the kid before leaving...
The Jason's Surplus Sirloin Steaks was good. I liked Freddy's as well, but the Jason one had more of an atmosphere of what a slasher-themed food franchise would be if there was one actually made. Nice job.
That we did! First: FFB Think of a KFC ad,replacing chicken with bacon, then replace the colonel with Freddy, licking his claws as you hear his voice: "Finger lickin' good!" 2: Jason's surplus sirloin steaks. "Ghee ghee ghee ha ha ha" You see the hilt of a machete. You see a grill with wsteaks on it. "Ghee ghee ghee ha ha ha" The camera dashes foward, and rotates away, while zooming out slowly as Jason uses his machete-hilted spatula to flip some steak. fade to black. What do you think?
