  1. I wouldn't suggest that you don't do your job, just that the latest addition to your job description is really dumb.
  2. I was hoping everyone would hate the idea of needing five words or more... But I was wrong. And have warned a few people already. :/

And the op on the 7th said "as of this post I'm handing out warnings" to see if everyone likes it. You obviously do not.

But I'm sick of people saying I don't warn enough/do my job.
  3. A) I hadn't realised we had started with that new rule.

    B) Would me adding "you look like this lol" have actually done anything of value to my post? No? No. Clearly you're a fair and wise rule-dispenser... But what a load of shit.
  4. I win!
  5. I was going to post this to Brett's page, but I found you first:

  6. Just keep posting recipes in your journal, and I promise I'll get round to making all of them at some stage.

Since the 1980s a series of mergers and acquisitions has resulted in concentrating over 80% of the 35 million beef cattle slaughtered annually in the U.S. into the hands of four huge corporations.

Honestly, that is so much of a mind**** to me. Here dairy isn't in the environmentalist good books due to intensive farming in areas that don't have adequate rainfall (requiring irrigation using aquifer water), and heavy use of nitrogenous fertilisers, polluting waterways.

But there is no such thing as factory farming of cows, and certainly very few corporations that actually own the animals. The vast majority are owned by families. And we still produce a third of the world's milk. (Although there is a monoposonistic buyer of milk, but that's probably the necessary complement to family-owned cows when they produce an export good.)

    That is so ****ed up.
  7. I'm afraid so.

    'merica!

And yeah, it's rather ****ed up. It's not so much that I mind people eating meat (and I still occasionally do myself), but when it comes from places like this.... fuuuuck that.

I'm glad you experimented! I wish that most people would at least take a week or so of eating vegetarian and learning recipes so that when they start incorporating meat again, they make what they want/need and not what's habit. Beans, lentils, avocados, nuts, nut butters, Greek yogurt, protein powders... those things make it easy for me to not buy meat. I do always keep some ethical eggs around, though, in case I get a major protein craving. My two favorite vegetarian blogs are:
    My New Roots
Green Kitchen Stories » The healthy vegetarian recipe blog
They also do a lot of raw food. There are some things they use that make me think "where the **** would I even purchase that?" but a lot of them are accessible and really tasty. And the more you learn, the more you can improvise.
  8. It's possible to factory farm cows? Maybe I'm naive, but I come from a beef, milk and wool country, and have only heard of factory farmIng in relation to chickens and pigs. Naturally I find it unethical and unhealthy for all involved... but cows?!

Some people man. I just realised that I never updated about my vegetarian experiment. It worked for like a week, but I missed meat too much, and lack experience (and the time/resources to experiment with) vegetarian dishes. As soon as I move out...

Now I eat only small portions of meat, and can comfortably go a day or too without meat.

Although I think I should be careful, as a blood test a few years back said I had a problem with low haemoglobin.
  9. I don't suck!? This is the greatest news ever! Thankies! ILU2
  10. What the ****, it was your birthday? Jesus, happy belated birthday I suck. BUT YOU DON'T. ily baaiiii
  11. In 500 years time, historians of our era are going to have the hardest time. The Internet will consist as a historical relic comprised 70% of porn and 30% of forgotten memes. Nothing of substance will exist and they'll conclude that we made repetitive jokes and masturbated. It's your fault, Alisynchronicty.
  12. Hahaha... if you don't watch Breaking Bad, you should.

Mostly, I just wanted to delete things that made me sad or embarrassed to read. Stuff that doesn't matter anymore, that I'd prefer to let go of. And I wanted to take a journal here in a slightly different direction, so I was trying to reduce clutter. What ended up happening was I deleted the first post without thinking and the rest went with it.
  13. Why were you trying to delete anything anyway? Evidence of your drug addiction? The DEA on to you?
  14. Haha yeah, I messed up and physically deleted the whole shebang. Kind of sad... thing went back as far as 2004. But I have everything saved, so.... I'm not too upset about it. I hadn't updated in a month or so... maybe longer... I was sort of over it as it was. So now I get to start over, clean slate.
  15. ahahahahahaha

    Goddamnit that's amazing.
