Come again?
There is a venom in numerical lies.
I have never heard of those films. I don't like parodies most of the time, so I'm thinking I won't like these films either.
It is a series of French spy films. I read they came out in Belgium, so I thought you might have seen them. The newest one came out in April.
I don't know what that is.
Are you a fan of OSS 117?
bonjour = good day / hello salut = hi / bye, but most of the time 'bye' I think. 'tiens(?)' is something like 'well,...' or 'hmm' or 'oh...' or 'look/listen...'. Really depends on the context. Hard to translate. Sometimes it means something like "really?".
What is the difference between bonjour, salut, and tiens?
I find it hard to pick a 'best' film too. I think I was just expecting more from The Assassination. Jesse James is a legend, but I think it's way more fascinating to an American audience. I hated Robert Ford, but Affleck did an outstanding job. Also: "Look, Larry. Have you ever heard of Vietnam?"
Man, you caught me. The truth is that I can't really decide which one is the best. I pulled Jesse James on you because I can't believe you didn't like it. The theme of the film is deconstructing Jesse James. I know he is world famous, but here, particularly in the South, he is a god. That is what resonated with me the most. You see Jesse as a mean-spirited miserable man, and yet he is a hero to all Southerners despite robbing and killing them. Regarding Amelie, I saw it. At the risk of suffering Heather's wrath, I will say I liked it.
I guess so. I really can't figure out why you think it's such a great film. I think Cidade de Deus was one of the better films of this decade. Did you like Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain?
We can't be friends anymore then. The Assassination of Jesse James is the greatest movie of the decade.
Obviously, the characters in all three films have nothing to do with eachother. Just saw The Assassination. Was a bit disapointing. Filmwise it was great, but I just couldn't identify with the protagonist, and I can't say I like the script that much either. If only the whole film had been like the last 30 minutes were.
I have seen Babel, the other two are coming up. Didn't like Babel, felt a bit too self important. I believe it was only a trilogy in the sense of a recurring theme.
Have you seen Amores Perros, 21 Grams and Babel? I've only seen the first two so far. They're supposed to be some sort of trilogy.
