That just gave me i good idea i am going to be one of Maleficus's valued warriors or something like that and like you said i can command my own unit maybe even a special unit to seek out information and the whereabouts of the other shards.
I like it all =X! If you don't want him the 'alien' party, but want to have a darker side to the story go for a minion of Maleficus... Or maybe not a minion but someone higher up and write you into the plot x3 So you could hold control of some of the minions too if you preferred... I love all your ideas though! :3
I like the idea of my character wanting the shards as well but i don't know if i want him to be an 'alien' so to speak one of Maleficus's minions or just a mercenary like i said before. I can see the story from each character if i was the alien he would not know the ways of this planet but he can feel the power of the shards and maybe he needs it to save his own planet OR for his own evil desire, whereas the enemy retainer can be double crossing his master and be pretending to collect the shards but he is really getting them for himself or maybe another secret master? And last but not least my mercenary can be hired to either destroy Maleficus or to collect the shards that he already has, and maybe my character whichever one i choose might be tempted to join either the good side or the evil side ????
