The new 80gb model literally doesn't support PS2 emulation, but I'm pretty sure it still plays PSX games. I'd need to pop one in to make sure, but I believe the instruction manual mentioned it. =D Trouble is, apart from a few RPGs I got rid of most of my PSX titles. ^^;; Just lacked the space. If my PS3 could still play PS2 games, I'd likely think a lot more highly of it...
Yes it is, I have yet to buy an actual title since GTIV. There just isn't enough to spark my interest. As far as upcoming titles, I am looking forward to Silent Hill Homecoming, RE5 and God of War III. But over all I still love my PS3 and the graphics equalizers and excelerators for PS2 games and PSX games is quite handy. Did you say the other night that your 80gig PS3 wouldn't play PSX games or was it just PS2 games? With the most recent update it should be able to play momst of both, the only ones that I was aware of that wouldn't play those was the 20 and the 40 models.
I like the PS3's aesthetics I admit, but the game selection is terrible. Hopefully that'll change fairly soon.

Aye, no hard feelings. I should probably have been more specific with what I meant by fanboy. I mean the kind of people who've given me some annoyances of late with their pack mentalities and obvious lack of a care for what lies under the hood... They can be worse than the pacs of mac fans spouting marketting lines such as 'It just works' over and over... But then there's a few 360 fans the same way. Listen to everything they're fed without questioning... And yeah, if you have a PS3 with the emotion engine, you've pretty much got the best console out there. The ability to play PSX/PS2 games is a big point in that it's one of the best gaming libraries. In most cases if it doesn't have a classic it has a port of the classic. My way around that was just keeping my PS2. It takes up space and can be a pain to switch out cable-wise but it does the job... Luckily my 360 plays most of my favourite xbox games so I don't have three consoles out all the time. That would get messy... Later dude.
What's up duder. Just wanted to let you know there are no hard feelings over the transactions that took place in the Thread Final Fantasy XIII No Longer a PS3 Exclusive. I really don't feel like / have time to post there again and go off subject so FYI I have the 60gig first gen. And I am glad you took the X-box 360 specialist thing as a joke as that was what it was intended to be. I thought about it after I posted and was going to go back and edit it so you didn't take it offensivly but obviously you didn't. But I do give kuddos for the knowledge you have obtained on tech specs. I have noticed the lack of 80 gigs here in the states but everyone I talk to that work in the stores say it's because they can't keep them in stock, they are selling like hot cakes haha. Alot of places have upped inventory on them and they still can't keep them stocked.
