Alrighty, I can make it work! Seeing as you're planning Shift to be 500+ chapters anyway, I think it'll take a while for me to read it all, so I'll start off with something easy. Gotta schedule how much to read and what days to read. I sense a tough (reading) year ahead of me. Especially when I also have things planned, but meh, I'll read whenever I'm in a writer's block (which is quite often). Couldn't help but view your profile as well. Mind if I ask something? (And in return you can ask something back)
Yeah, it looks like it got pruned when Merlin did his cut off of all threads. The best thing to do at this point is just read them here. Eytha - FictionPress.com This my Fiction Press profile. The Inner Man, a Manga fanfic - FictionPress.com This is The Inner Man story. This actually has the episode previews as well. So that will make it feel more anime-ish.
Either my brain's suffering from all the late nights, or I really can't find the thread for the Inner Man.
One's ongoing, and the other has already ended. I'll try the Inner Man, then.
Well The Inner Man is only 27 episodes. And it ends, though it is about the same amount of words as Shift is currently. Both are around 300k+ words, but I think Shift has since passed up The Inner Man. It is up to you.
What a dilemma. I know I said I was going to read Shift, but I get a kick out of comedy an awful lot. And this sounds like a good story. Hm. Choices.
Well it is a comedy/drama about an artist that's a bit of a playboy, but accidentally witnesses a crime syndicate fighting and nearly dies. He ends up being placed in witness protection, but since it is the future they go a step further than just relocation and a new identity. You get a new body as well. But mistake happens during the transfer process dumping him in the body of an eight year girl. So he's forced to hid from the crime syndicate that wants him dead while being in an eight year girl's body. Lots of hilarity ensues.
Ooh, intriguing. What's it about?
The Inner Man was my first full length story posted here. Flesh is for Gods was my second. They quite different stylistically and mood. But I still find myself laughing each time I re-read The Inner Man. So that's always good.
Well, true. I only said that from experience, because usually my only audience is a guy whose stories I read. It's all good, but sometimes I wonder if I should even go on because every time I posted a story on another forum, either no one read it, some would like it, and others would even resort to flaming for not liking my tastes. But it's good that nothing's stopped you from writing. Was Flesh for Gods your first story, or have your worked on something before that?
Well the upside with Shift is that they are much shorter. Rather than the 8k words and 16 pages for Flesh is for Gods, Shift is only about 2.5k words and 5 pages. So it is pretty fast reads. But I haven't had anyone finish any of my stories and comment on it. They might have finished it, but I wouldn't know about it. So if that was going to discourage me it would have a long time ago.
No problem. I'm moving on to Shift (though I can't say when I'll start) later, and hopefully I'll catch up to you.....someday. People just gotta find time to sit down and read it. It's like reading a book. I hope that doesn't ever discourage you from writing.
Thank you for the detailed review that you gave me. I know many have read a part of the story and commented on it, but you're the first to actually complete it and comment on the entire story. I'm glad that you glad it and it kept your interest. It does carry a lot of twists and ends up being quite tragic in the latter half.
So I finished your story. I left my review on your Inbox, so be sure to read it if you haven't already. I'll take a break from reading for a while, as there is stuff I have to do before I introduce my works. Still, that doesn't mean you will hear (or read, whatever) the last of me. TFF is my second home, after all. Gotta post something sometime. ^^
If you have to still read 11, then yeah 3 episodes left to go.
