  1. It's ok. It's always just a choice to make. I'm not going to be upset if you don't read Shift. It is pretty long and daunting by itself and out factors will only make it more difficult. Read it if you wish, but don't feel you have to do so.

It's understandable about. Depending on how serious and deep it goes, it is not an easy thing to get over, especially if it is your first time (don't know if it is). You did pretty good picking up on that, I left it easily interpreted different ways. It's a complicated and very long story without a pleasant ending. So I can certainly empathize.

Yeah, I don't follow Saint Seiya too much. Long burn series are more difficult for me to get into these days unless there is something amazing to hook me. Which is why I've stopped following One Piece, just way too long to catch up.
  2. I hadn't read Shift and won't make any promises if I ever will. But I'll try to get to it. I can at least try o_o

And yes, it does leave you a mess. I'm doing better, but I couldn't get over her until recently o-o. And from what I can tell, you implied that it has happened to you as well (or someone close to you). It sucks.

As for Saint Seiya it's one of my new favorites. The original series is done, the author's original manga is still going (slowly) and now there's non-canon anime of the series. I was told it was good, but I don't know. Hardly anything gets my attention these days.
  3. I was only joking. I pretty much assumed that I hadn't read Shift. But sounds like you've had some hectic and busy times, but if you're back here I'm guessing that you're doing better now. I certainly can understand how it can leave you a mess.

And yup, I know about Saint Seiya and the character Andromeda. I think I might have seen one of the view episodes with them in it, but it's been years and they're still making episodes for Saint Seiya.
  4. Tbh I never got down to reading it (I hope that's ok). I was absent for so long because I found love and she took every second of my time. We called it off 8 months ago and I've been a wreck since then.

I've been reading many things since I left so that's another reason I haven't gotten down to reading Shift. Mainly the Saint Seiya series. And since I've read somewhere that you like your name so much, I figured I told you there's a character there who wears an armor based on the Andromeda Constellation :3
  5. A year apparently. ^^ I knew Shift was long, but I didn't think you'd go silent while you read it. ;p

It's ok, don't have to worry about being gone. Things happen. I've been keeping busy, even more so lately with all I'm doing around here.
  6. Geez, how long has it been? o.o

Hi, sorry for being absent for so long. How have you been?
  7. Me is grateful for yer kind words.

I'll probably start reading next week, since I won't work so much. I probably won't read it with as much enthusiasm as I did for the Inner Man, unless I'm really hooked on it.
  8. It's ok I've been busy and inactive. So it rounds out.

Congrats on the new job. But it's ok, take your time on Shift. It's not going anywhere, I think.
  9. Blargh! I've been somewhat active for a while now and forgot to even say hi! Sorry! >.<

But how are you? I have gotten that new job after all and I'll be working for most of this week. Which sucks since I haven't even started reading Shift like I said I would. >.<
  10. Thank goodness for RPing. Practice makes perfect and there's no way you'll improve unless you keep writing, whether it's perfect or full of errors.

You did well with the comedy parts, and I always appreciate a good joke. I'm glad I saw it through to the end because I can barely bring myself to read most stories. Books I've read before are now just sitting on shelves. One reason I don't own any manga.

I can barely focus from all this late night prowling (took a while to just write this out), so I'll start turning in earlier than usual. Sweet dreams for now. ^_^
  11. Yeah the bank robbery is certainly a strange moment, but that was the magical girl parody episode. So I made fun of a lot of tropes.

I had done some funny things and jokes before, but not a straight up comedy story. There are certainly plenty of moments where it is serious, but it is definitely comedy half of the time. I've done plenty of action in all of the RPs so it is hard to say if you wanted to call it the first story with a lot of action. But it is the first original full length story I wrote to completion, so in away it did a lot of things first.
  12. And the pictures of blood in my mind are proof of that. You really did great when it came to fights. A lot were intense and the rest were just odd. (Do I need to mention the bank robbery?)

It was good for your first comedy (and I'm assuming it's also the first story with a lot of action). Hope I'd live to see the day you come up with your first horror story.
  13. Yeah I could go wild with the fights. I pulled out all of the stops for the fights. I really wanted to have Mashiro and the Scarred Man's fight be a powerful no holds bar fight that makes it clear that they were both putting their whole into it. They totally trashed a classroom and that wasn't enough to contain their fight.
  14. They definitely needed more than just 500. As for the entire battlem it had all the elements. Some things I didn't see coming, there were some close calls, and when you mentioned necks getting sliced I just had to reach for my throat.

I guess it does make more sense to have Mashiro fight the guy, seeing as even the scarred man could take Kohana down during their fight at the house. It just wasn't what I expected, but it was all great.
  15. Yeah 500 is completely overkill, but considering that they still weren't enough. Makes you wonder what it would take if not 500. The school is a two story elementary school complex. Considering that it has 6 grades and at least 3 or 4 classrooms per grades, it is pretty sizable. There were probably 500 children alone.

Yeah, if this was a straight up action series or shounen Chiko being the main character would have faced down with the Scarred Man, but it wasn't and it made more sense to have Mashiro fight him. Seeing the Scarred Man dead probably would have brought some additional closure for Chiko, but considering the mood or situation, not really the best time. But I think the Scarred Man's body was around there when Chiko found Mashiro.
