  1. I feel comfortable after just three hours of playing. The controls took some getting used to but I know I can manage after I play long enough. My Square-Enix ID is WhiteKnightL, and named my character Eleazar Little. I honestly didn't know what to name him so I used the name generator instead. Eleazar sounds since on its own and Little because John Little (also known as Little John) has always been a favorite character in any Robin Hood stories I come across. I plan to play at night since everyone's asleep then, just in case you needed to catch me.

It'll be difficult but I trust that Namco Bandai did a good job on it. It's already next on my list and will shift between that and FFXIV. I truly didn't expect it to have the Poseidon and Hades chapters from the anime/manga, so this is definitely better than Sanctuary Battle already.
  2. Fair enough. Whenever you feel comfortable just let me know.

It's a start at least. Saint Seiya never really blew up in the US, so it's probably more difficult for them to try to bring them out over here.
  3. Sweet. Thanks for letting me know. I'll probably spend the next couple of days adapting to the system but I'll let you know when I'm ready.

Btw, let me correct myself on one thing. The game I mentioned is actually Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers. It was recently released on the PSN and it's the first Saint Seiya game to be released in NA. So I'm quite happy even though it's $60. Looks like I'll have plenty of things to do during the holiday season.

EDIT: Not sure how you feel about the button-mashing kind of games, but here's the trailer for ONE of the three story arcs in the game. So far it's impressed me. But I guess that goes with being such a big fan of the series. Hopefully this will increase its U.S. audience.

  4. Most of the TFF players are on Ultros. So you'll find of us there. Whenever you get on let me know and I can invite into you the Linkshell and Free Company. You can see on the FFXIV/FFXI forum who all plays.
  5. It will take some getting used to but at least it's much better than the last one.

I was tempted to ditch FFXIV and go for the $60 Saint Seiya: Brave Warriors game on the PSN, but I realized I could get the latter later this month. So now I already downloaded FFXIV. I just need to choose my server but I wanted to ask if you played it so I could just choose the same as yours ^^ Decided to start with the Pugilist job since it appealed to me more than the rest. I always loved hand-to-hand combat.
  6. Yeah, it's only $20 right now. So it is pretty cheap. You'll still have to make an account with Square whenever you want to start playing. But it comes with 30 days free to try it out. So you can experience if it is for you or not.

A new house takes a little getting used to. Hopefully you don't have to move again as soon.
  7. That is excellent news. If it's half off then all I need to do is buy a card. With the money I just received I may make that happen, but I won't make any guarantees.

Still adjusting to the new house, though. Lately all I've been wanting to do is relax.
  8. Ah, you've played MMOs in the past. I guess depending on which you played then there will be some familiarity with it then. They currently have it half off right now on the PSN store and 75% off if you're a Plus member.
  9. We have had this kind of luck over the years so it's nothing new. Fortunately bills are set up so all that's left is finding the right time to spend money on the game. It would be nice getting into MMOs again.
  10. Moving again, I'm sorry you have to keep shifting around. You'll find a place in time. But sounds exciting if you're finances are improving. And you're correct FFXIV is online only. There's no single player component to it.
  11. Yes, it was but with all things considered it was a better night than most nights I have at that store so it was more tiring than anything else. Sadly, moving out yet again means that I would have to transfer my internet service to the next house, and that may take from a few days to a couple of weeks. That's pretty much how long it took to get it installed on this one. In the meantime I may not be able to read since I can't access this page with my phone so I'll read what I can now before we move.

Finances have been better lately, actually. So I may be able to get a subscription sooner or later, but like WKC II it may take a while to even get to that point. Since it's online-play only (from what I've read) setting things up plus settling into our new house may take a while. But it's definitely next on my list.
  12. I can only imagine Black Friday was a nightmare. And yeah, you've made into the battle in the camp, which is very long. The Fumiko and Stamatia fight is pretty intense with the emotions on the line. A lot of the fights are about facing consequences, so they will be pretty dangerous and some bad things will happen.

FFXIV is a ton of fun. Though it is an online game and a subscription based one. So unless your internet connection has changed and finances it'll probably hard for you to try out. But if you're a FF fan there is plenty to find in there and it plays on so many of things people enjoyed about FF over the years. If you can get past the MMO setting and the monthly cost it is definitely a game to play. Possibly even a must play for FF fans.
  13. Searching yet for another house, Black Friday shift, and just being tired in general, I've been making little progress but it's still going. Managed to get to Chapter 147 and witnessed the fight between Fumiko and Stamatia. I don't think I've been that entertained ever since that long fight between Haruo, Yuki and the street punks. Though Fumiko losing her arm was kind of a shocker.

On a different subject, I couldn't help but notice FFXIV on the games section at my job. Haven't paid attention to the threads here lately, so what's your take on the game?
  14. More on the story.

The first chapter dates back all the way to June 22nd of this year. I had this crazy idea with a co-worker (who shares my interests, more or less) after seeing her attempt to fan fiction. "Kingdom Hearts, but with anime" she said. At first I had the intention of doing a crossover (as I always did) but I dropped the idea after seeing I would get nowhere with it. And ever since then I tried doing an original creation, and while it has taken months just to write eight chapters, ideas suddenly started pouring in for about a month or so now. So I write when I can and I'm motivated enough. I released the eighth chapter just days ago, and right now it's likely the ninth will be out within the next three days.

I did this with one person in mind. And I think I already shared that painful chapter of my life with you, but I don't remember if I have. She may be gone, but at least I can try to keep her memory alive.
  15. I just need to see the right words and I may remember. I may go back sometime to find out but I can't make any promises.

I'll present you the first chapter as soon as I can. I just have to make sure it's presentable.
