Well she is into manga/anime - as are most of my friends - but she had forgotten its true translation. One of my friends has learned Japanese quite well - on his own, he never took classes - and he had a general idea but he couldn't put the individual meanings together to form the word. So the recruiter took a picture of her tattoo - which I think should've been done in the beginning - and let the translator in the navy figure it out.

Well my girlfriend is going to Richmond next week as the next part in her recruitment process. She had been waiting for them to translate her tattoo - it was in Kanji. She's going to have an even more difficult time in Basic since she is not an expert swimmer.
