  1. I PLAY SIMS 3!!!!

I guess it's only a matter of time before I become a facebook zombie who spams their contacts with requests to help water their fake crops and such.
  2. Well she played Sims 3 predominantly before Farmville.
  3. So the moral of the story is that playing Final Fantasy games will lead to Farmville addiction?

Drastic times call for drastic reactions.

    I kid. ;P

That's pretty cool to hear though, and yeah, pretty surprising as well. ^^ She sounds like an awesome lady to spend time with her grand-kids and enjoy their hobby too.
  4. So my co-worker who is around 50-60 yrs old plays Final Fantasy. She got hooked on a Final Fantasy on the Playstation. She got into gaming from her grandchildren. She would play along them and that's how she got hooked. I don't know which Final Fantasy that hooked her but she did say she has all of them; I don't know if that is all of the PS FFs, all FFs on Sony platform, or all FFs. Either way I was definitely surprised. She spends most of her time on Farmville now.
  5. I almost put Nier down. During the quest to get the "miracle fish" (or whatever it is called) for your daughter I was fishing in the wrong spot. It was on the beach in the town which was freaking hard, the proper place was to go through a small cave to a secluded beach. Luckily I found the right place before I put it down.
  6. Oh, Lost Odyssey~ I'm watching a walkthrough of that game on youtube, since I can't play it because I don't own a 360... If I did, I would totally get that game. ^^ I do have Nier though, which is another game I need to finish. My power got cut after doing this really tedious game quest though, so I got frustrated and put it down for a while.
  7. Looked at my list this morning, replace Valkyrie Profile 2 & Star Ocean: TLH with Nier and Lost Odyssey. VP2 & SO:TLH are two of my "bonus" games for the year; the third bonus game is Xenosaga: Episode II.
  8. Oh... Hahaha... Well, now I just feel silly. I have never heard any kind of tomato sauce be referred to as a gravy, but I learned a little something, so hooray~!

Looks like a nice list~ ^^ Best of luck in your quest!
  9. A tomato gravy (a.k.a gravy or Sunday gravy) is a term for a tomato sauce. The Italian word "sugo" has two definitions: (1) sauce (salsa) & (2) gravy (sauce with meat). So a meatless tomato sauce will be called a sauce or marinara sauce while a sauce with meat will be a gravy. My great-grandmother would put in meatballs, sausages, ham hocks, chicken wings, or something I can't spell correctly (brogal, soft "g") it is flank steak covered with pine nuts, and parsley (there may be a cheese), rolled up and put into the sauce.

Let's see if I can remember without the list:

    Golden Sun: Dark Dawn
    Dragon Quest IX
    Dragon Quest VI
    Tales of Symphonia
    Tales of Vesperia
    Magna Carta: Tears of Blood
Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light
    Persona 4
    Xenosaga: Episode 1
    Valkyrie Profile 2
    Kingdom Hearts
    Star Ocean: The Last Hope

    I believe that is it.
  10. Oh, I didn't know that about DQ V... I'll have to check on the others you mentioned though. ^^

Best of luck with your plan! Sounds like a fun goal you have set for yourself. Heh... Alchemy was so addictive to me in DQ IX, and I spent a lot of time on that too. Finding the ingredients and seeing what they produce when mixed together was really fun.

You got Golden Sun: Dark Dawn completed, and you're going to finish up DQ IX and Persona 4. What other RPGs are on your list for this year?

Good to hear that you're doing okay, though you sound really busy too. ^^; Best of luck to your GF when she heads to basic. I hope the time she's there just flies by. As for your culinary escapades, I have never heard of tomato gravy before, but I really like tomatoes, so I would probably enjoy that. ^^ I don't think I've had ham hocks before either, which is surprising since I live in the south, and we tend to eat some pretty odd stuff.
  11. DQV is tough to find in stores. It had a limited print in the US therefore prices won't be going down for used. DQIV is another game where the characters have personality. As does the recent DQVI. I do believe you can get the hero's (DQIX) mentor to join the party after doing a quest.

One of my New Year's resolutions - neither of them were serious just recreational - was to beat 12 RPGs this year. One for each month. And I have 3 other RPGs as extras if I beat the 12 I put down. So far I'm doing ok. I didn't beat anything in Jan. but I did down Golden Sun: Dark Dawn earlier this month and I'm putting in some heavy time into DQIX - finally. I'm taking more time than I need because of alchemy, and trying to set up my characters with multiple vocations - that takes a lot of time. I know I most likely can skip all that and beat the game but I'm setting myself up for after-game stuff (Legacy Bosses). I'm hoping to beat DQIX by the end of this month, just a few more days, doubtful but if I can get it in early March that'll be good. Then I could finish up Persona 4 which I'm close to beat, near the end, so that should take to long.

As for myself I'm doing ok. Looking for a second job. Girlfriend is about to leave for Basic (boot camp) on March 15th. School. Learning new recipes. I want to ask my grandmother is she remembers the basics of her mother's Tomato gravy; she put in meatballs, sausage, and ham hocks. That last one surprised me. I have never tried ham hocks but am willing to try it in the gravy.
  12. Butterflies are plotting against humanity to become our new winged overlords. You have been warned.

I have not... I really should, but I has FF IV, Persona 3 and a walkthrough of Lost Odyssey to finish. After that, it's DQ IX time~ I told myself that before I buy any more games, I need to finish the ones in my collection first.

As for more DQ games, I still want to find a copy of V or VIII. DQ IX is good of what I've played, but I'd like to see one of the games where the player-controlled characters had...well...character. The ones that I've created in IX are cool, but I wish they could have a some significance in the story.

And I've been doing alright. ^^ Nothing too interesting has happened that I could talk about though. How about yourself?
  13. My co-worker really likes butterflies, but besides that I was wondering if you had beaten Dragon Quest IX? Are you interested in playing more titles from the DQ series from your experience of DQ IX?

    And how have you been?
  14. Yeah, I watched some good playoff football but now I'm ready for this Sunday's games already. I just got to grind the week out. I think it has stopped raining here. I can still see it is wet outside but I didn't really check to see if it has stopped raining.
  15. I am doing pretty good. It's raining now too, so I get to hear the pitter-patter of raindrops on my roof when I decide to go to sleep tonight, unless the rain suddenly stops or something.

How about yourself? Did you get to have a good holiday weekend?
