Sleeping on the work again are ya? xD
So, there is absolutely nothing fancy goin' about there? Im bored as hell.
Sup Ralz, being quite awhile since last time, how is it?
Ralz, i've dreamt yet another vision. Dreamt of the game again, as me Elyon... It took place in what seemed to be some Catacombs, it was dark, so it has hard to see, i tried stretching out for light sources but i couldn't find anything, so i had to align my eyes to the dark to get a idea on where i went, it took awhile, and the place had a creepy ambiance and it had a pungent stench of death and decay, looking for a way out, the air got thicker, and the place creepier, but what was absolutely most terrifying was that i heard something i couldn't really see what it were... I only got a brief moment on what it was, and it seemed like it was circling around me, giving off a very unsettling feeling... I dont exactly know what it was... But it sounded like someone was crying, except... in a very demonic way, it passed quickly before me, this brief moment i saw it, it was bleeding and it had black wings... i got freaked out, but didn't scream for a reaction... And it disappeared as soon as it appeared, left no traces or anything... But, this gave me inspiration of a new kind of enemy, and while i know the idea is already taken, but to me... it was like a combination of; "Weeping Angels", and "Malphas". As it continuously echo'd in my ears back then... Maybe we can make something from these? Continuing the journey inside the Catacombs, the place got slightly brighter, when i finally seemed to meet a armor-clad zombie... But this wasn't any kind of it, it was talking to me... But i couldn't exactly tell what it was saying, except for the words... "Save me..." "Repentance..." "Are you here... to deliver salvation?" Apparently, it was some sort of person, who've lost his/her mind waiting for someone to rescue it, it still had some sanity left, but not much of it, and apparently, it got provoked at my appearance here, and as excepted, the RPG battle started... apparently it was a paladin, or some sort of fighter, on how it fought, it wasn't strong or anything, and it even attempts to heal itself, despite that its a zombie, in disbelief that its living... After defeating it, it regained its senses and answered before disappearing in a flash of light; "Thank... you...". I didn't dream much after this event, because of some bug who got in my room somehow, and woke me up by being a continuous annoyance making; "Brrrrzzzz" sounds... I hate bugs, despite what it is, if it was a fly or mosquito, it's fine, but i couldn't tell what it was, so i raised my guards on whatever it was... Anyway Ralz, i thought i'd mention this, as it was all in my dream i've had today/yesterday, as i immediately typed this message to you, when i waked up from bed, after having taken some milk, because i was thirsty, you might be able to take and make something useful with what i've dreamt for the game itself, make sure to let me know, if there is anything you need to know. Peace out.
I've made the update with an Index. You can use it to zoom to whatever category you want. I see. I can't say I've ever heard of such a thing before. I think I'll wait until the story document is started and finished. Then we can figure out a name. I was sure I was viewing conversation when I posted that... Maybe there's a glitch. We should probably use PMs, then.
I've known that, but i just tend to forget about it all the time, i just prefers everything in seperate categories. Yeah, Recovery skills can heal critical damage, recovering more HP, they pretty much have the same chance as regular physical attacks, however... We need to find a term, to use as Critical, i mean... When the word pop ups says; "Critical" when you heal, it sounds so out of place, it just doesnt work in my opinion, therefor, in the Demo, its just called; "Lucky" instead for Critical Hits, both for Physical Skills and Healing ones, but i need to fix the scripts, as they are kind of bugged, once i get the time. Hmm, well, as for the names, i dont have really anything i can say, except for the names of my earlier games i cancelled, you know... Alexander's, Felicia's, Nina's and Shin's games? Yeah... I remember all their projects names actually which i gave them, They didnt just appear in one project, they appeared in several ones i attempted, all who got discarded, you might be able to make something from it. -Alexander- Adventures of a Lifetime Castle of Illumination -Felicia- Shinobi Village -Nina- A Princess in Distress Castle of Illumination -Shin- Upgraded Alpha IV The Antique Machine Army That's all the names of the projects i've had with them... Dunno if it helps, but i'll list them there anyway. Yeah, i'll definitely hope people will like it, hopefully, a sequel will be made as well, and usually by then, things are either easier, or harder than before, depending on the circumstances, anyway, sure about that document, try and sort each in different categories, in other words, each section, in a different document. And nope, im not sadistic... Atleast i hope im not, but i try to be positive and true to logics, facts, possibilities... But mostly of the time, im persistant, despite things going against me. So yep. PS: You posted in your own Profile, again!
Ooooh... I've being seeing this list, it is huuuuuge, and i like it, most things actually... It just misses a slight few details, but i can probably take care of these, but you've pretty much covered up everything we need to know about, Items, Plot, Specials, everything of it. Must have taken quite a bit of time to finish it, though... I'd like to note, that its easier to find among these stuffs, if each paragraph were in seperate documents, So... when im working and thinking; "Oh where's the movelist? Oh in this document... oh dangit not there, oh jesus christ im going to be scrolling down in ages now." But i can probably seperate the documents in different parts, whenever i get the time. I'll also cover up, giving the characters a few more Skills to work with, but yeah, considering the demo, the characters are awfully diversed, but that was when i was quite janky in working, it isnt easy managing a database as it seems, especially for a large serious project like this. I can probably fix you the Demo, though, its very buggy, and some features i've added isnt getting applied, Skills and Healing cannot deal Critical Damage anymore, for some reason, i think that script got overwrited by something... Anyway, when i'll start using RPG Maker VX Ace, the new one, i'll make sure to try and start over with the scripts, gather whatever necessary ones i can, that is important, and see if i can find more ones. Though, its going slow right now, because we're lacking the grafics around the game, but we're getting finished in the Side-matter importance, such as Items, Skills, Traits and all that, you have yet to come up with a list of finished Synthesized Weapons however, but i'll trust your judgment, and im going to stick with Sideways Battles, because they are too fancy than Frontal Ones, besides, its kind of Cute-sy/Badass seeing those small sprites swing weapons against monsters. xD Once we can get the standard sprites for the Main Initial Party Set-Up, i can start making test demos again, we'd need a finished sprite set of, Elyon, Ralz, Meigumi and Alther to have a party to work on... Meigumi has already finished Alther's Field Sprites, but the rest are lacking, hate to put much work here, but i dont know of anyone else who can do this. This project sure is tough, but im sure, that whenever it'll be done, it'll show of some pretty satisfying results, and you'll have a nice game to "brag" about. Oh yes, we still need to upgrade the Game's Title Name, Legendary City of Chaosthroph just doesnt make sense, or cut anylonger, we need a new working one, thats something to consider thinking about for awhile. If you got any ideas, then feel free to share them! "Oh, look at this cool game i found!" "What is it?" "This game is called; "xxxxx/(Something we haven't thought of yet)", and its really cool!" "Oh, did you know i was part of the team that made it?" "What, Really? Your lying, right?" "Nah mate, i worked with this guy on the internet to finish off this game, told me i could brag about it when it got finished! Im pretty satisfied myself with it, we're possibly going to work on a sequel to it as well!" "That's awesome! Can i be a part of the team?" "If you are good at anything special, then maybe you can!" I can consider that this game we'll be a good game, to gift someone you fancy, like a present of some sort, since it'll be free. But if anything, i might just try to get this game on a disk, just for fun sakes! But lets finish this game! Do it for the fun! Do it for... our boredoms sakes! I dont even know! But we'll finish this game, with great results, as long we work together, and put our minds to it! Peace out bro! EDIT: Awww man... i had forgotten how dreadfully hard the bosses i created where... I must have being crazy back then! Good thing that im a master tactician!
Can you share that? I've long since lost the files to the latest demo. (Thanks to my previous crap computer dying on me.) Not sure if I'd like that. I like seeing the sprites in action. But you could do that, if this proves too troublesome... If Alther can do it, then rely on that. If things have already reached this point, then desperate times call for desperate measures. Oh, I know we will. And we will pump out a sequel someday. This FD I'm going to be sending you should prove that we're closer than you might think. And yes, I've been thinking the same thing, actually. I think I see what's wrong. I go to my page and see your comment and accidentally post a new message on my profile instead of Viewing Conversation and replying. This should fix it.
Im not sure on how many effects can be putted on a weapon, quite a bunch actually, usually stat boosts, either specific ones, or by percentage, possibly Perma-Status Effects to them as well, though, i downloaded the RTP once more, and actually decided to play through the old Game Demo, and its pretty fun from how i remember it, slightly janky, and there's a new version that goes of the name of RPG Maker VX Ace, which i'll probably switch too, however... i dont know if the Scripts i use are compatable, however, im slightly thinking on changing a few perspectives possibly... There could be a chance, that i'll switch from a Side-ways battle system, to a Frontal one instead, without general character grafics, though... chances are low for that, but it makes scripting alot less problematic, again... chances are i'll stick to side-ways... I also need to try and rewamp and fix the scripts to make them less buggy, but i haven't used the in-game systems to change scripts or anything in ages, so its garantued that i have forgotten almost everything, so... I'll just gather whatever i can, and do the best with it i can do. RPG Maker VX Ace is techniquely the same as regular VX, except with a highly improved database, you can create your own characters as well, though... it quite gives you an alright freedom to it, its still extremely inferior to custom sprite-making, which we would have needed Meigumi so much here right now... and believe me, i've tried finding other people, but i cannot find anyone, either they'll find me, or Meigumi has to come back, possibly, Alther will have to help work in this, as he has some knowledge about it. Ralz, im confident we'll eventually finish this project, and possibly a sequel, but in this rate, it'll go snail-speed for here, we really need to shake them alive again somehow, also, hopefully, your story for the game is good, and understandable, and i keep day-dreaming about a remake of this game, in 3D form, i've dreamt it too, its so badass. Anyway Ralz... You are posting your own messages in your own profile by mistake, post them on mine, by clicking my name, or send a PM if its to problematic, peace and out bro!
Well, so much time has passed since last time... But nothing has really happened, and im not talking about your part, im saying about mine, and the others, as we are literally not going anywhere now... Meigumi really need to finish all the sprites, infact... She's a long way from being finished, and i respect that she's perhaps busy, with life, school and so on, they're much more important than this, but we are just not going anywhere now, atleast... Ask her to work on it, small steps by steps. Anyway, whats up? :3
Not really. It's more or less there for those who want some real closure on the story, as well as a proper teaser for things to come. Though, being an ending, once you beat the final boss, you go back to before you fight Shira. Hmm... maybe it's not worth it to have Ladon, in that case. No, Elyon only has single-healing, same as Ralz and Dimitri. (Unless you mean his special skills like Temperance.) I'm not sure I share your viewpoint. Characters having weaknesses is a good system, I think. Unless you want Krysta dropping dead a lot in a volcano area, you'd be best to either swap in Nova, or use the Synthesis system to give her some fire resistance. (BTW, do you want only synthesis to cover element properties? Perhaps only accessories to cover it? Or maybe both? I'd prefer synthesis covering things like Element Boost and Status Strike, but maybe having accessories to cover weaknesses would be a good idea, too.) With 50% EXP, the player would be more inclined to swap in the reserve members now and then. But with Full EXP, it's also more or less saving on grinding. I'll leave this to you. I kinda think that'll come up without any real input. When making the bestiary more recently, some of the later bosses get a Speed or 3-400. And in my stat leveling charts, (which may be way off) Ralz got like... 250. I can see it working for Krysta, and probably Elyon, too. I did my best to make the status effects in a way that they wouldn't lose worth by maxing your stats. Valor and Inspire change the damage you inflict, not the stats. (i.e. you deal 2000 with an attack, under Valor, it's 2500.) Barrier halves the damage you inflict. I expect Krysta might be dealing around 2-30000 damage with a basic physical attack at 999 Strength, though she'll never reach that much without stat boosting. I am now in the makings of a "last" document, that basically has everything in it, Skillset, Inventory, Synthesis... It's got a ways to you. If you'd like, I can show you what I have so far.
Well, it could work, but isnt that more of sequel-material? I see, that makes sense, and i dont mind this at all. Elyon can also multi-heal right? Thinking on this, alot of characters can, but the only ones who actually are good at it, (considering the Demos) are Elyon and Meigumi. Still, it shouldnt be too restrictive. Characters having latent elemental weaknesses? That works as well, though... Its almost pointless if you ask me. Though, it is not entirely sure whenever i can go with this feature, there is quite a good chance though, and does give some variety in battles. Yes, EXP is given to non-active party members as well, though they still recieves full amount like all characters, though, changing that shouldnt be too much of a problem. I was thinking that most bosses and special enemies should actually be having quite a rediculous amount of SPD, kind of enforcing the usage of Haste if you want your slower characters to be able to keep up between the faster enemies, though while it sounds like it would become obselete, dont worry, only time it actually becomes that is when all characters stats hits perfect and on max. So this ability should be useful throughout the game, including even on Secret Bosses as well.
I do seem to notice Ladon coming up a lot lately... If you truly want, I can make him a party member in the afterstory. I've also decided that the afterstory is basically an extended ending you can play through. He can be added to the roster because Elyon will be... unavailable. I removed the Charge and Focus skills sometime ago, but now I'm bringing them back as grimoires for all characters to learn. Nova and Krysta get Focus and Charge, respectively, but no one gets anything else naturally. I'm not sure what other special skills there are to offer outside of maybe more physical skills, but I feel elemental and physical skills shouldn't be tampered with too much. And no, I don't plan to go overboard with this. Krysta's not suddenly gonna replace Meigumi at her job. I'm thinking this: Single-targeting healing Raise Miracle Double and Triple Strike All basic buffs All basic debuffs Charge and Focus This way, there's still plenty of specific skills no one else gets. Meigumi and Laevateinn are still the only ones who multi-heal. Ralz and Nova keep their "state buffs" and Krysta is still too strong for her own good. I didn't want to delve into physical skills because considering how some characters' stats vary from one another, I took the liberty of altering the damage formula for some of them. For example, Ralz's skills are stronger than normal to compensate for his lower Strength. The element thing is really because each character is proficient in a single element (though some have access to more) and are consequentially weak to the opposing element. (i.e. Nova is weak to Ice, Elyon is weak to Dark, Laevateinn is weak to Earth.) If we had that function, then I would definitely not go with this grimoire idea. You could switch in characters as necessary to perform their roles and then send out the ones who inflict the most damage in the shortest amount of time. Oh, is EXP shared to non-active party members, too? I planned that the active team gets the full EXP, while the reserves get 50%. Though, that would also possibly force some characters into a support role only. Though, I suppose the system could also work in terms of reserves. I just don't see worth in Haste, then. As I said, it's a turn system, everyone WILL get a turn, no matter what (unless you manipulate things). If all one can change is the order of turns, it's not as valuable in that regard. If we had a system like FFX, where we could possibly get more turns as a result, then that would be something. I suppose I can keep it around, but it seems like a waste if you're already decently fast. Not to mention, most characters get those first-turn skills, which bypass Speed, anyway... I could see it possibly fixing Krysta's flaw, though.
I see, well... I kind of knew this then, but i suppose it shouldnt be to much of a problem then. But i do suggest that some Grimoires teaches a few of characters special abilities among themselves, because... It would be kind of broken, if someone went through power-leveling and learned completely way to powerful skills by that time. Of course, this doesnt apply to all skills. Characters are good at their own stuff, however... other Characters can also be proficent in it, just "not" as good as it than the other person. But we'll be having a max of 4 in a party, so there should be enough alteration. I am thinking on giving the ability to switch party members inside of battle as well, but im so rusty with it, but i'll work on it. Changing Haste to boost Evasion is not possible, its only possible to boost it through Equipment. We still need Haste for the reason it boosts speed, however... it doesnt affect how often your turns will come in, it affects how fast your character will be at performing their moves before their enemies (and allies too!)... And if one want to grind that much, that is going to take alot of time and still... SPD is overally also a trait of power to some of Ralz's skills in the game, where they are boosted depending on each SPD.
Um... Ladon isn't really a party member, at least not of the permanent variety. As a guest, he doesn't get access to Grimoires. I find the letter thing a little easier to spot when creating these specific grimoires. Now, for the next bit, what should we make available? I initially had all the basic buffs and debuffs available for learning. Then, I thought of all single-target healing, raising, purifying and miracle...ing. I didn't want elemental grimoires, like Blaze and Rupture, as I still want the characters to fulfill a single element, even if they aren't particurarly proficient in it. And then physical skills, I mostly realized there are very few skills that are shared between characters. There's Double and Triple Strike, but that's about it. I was thinking of having Grimoires with a basic name, but when applied to the character, the actual skill name is something else. Well, Alther focuses on skills that ignore certain aspects of an enemy's resistance. Meigumi is the basic white mage who focuses on the healing and sustenance of the party. Krysta is the physical god, but suffers due to slow speed. Each character serves some kind of role. I don't know if you're ready for this, but I'm thinking of changing Haste's effect to a more Evasive one. Like, it adds a flat 25% to the Evasion stat. I mostly thought of this because of the way turns work in this game. It's a round-based system, which means everyone WILL get one turn before it's over. The only thing to consider if who goes before who. Thus, Haste with this effect will be more useful over all. I think so, anyway. Really, the only way for something to become obsolete is to raise your stats to their maximum (999 or maybe 9999?) so much to the point where why even continue playing the game?
